I think it all comes down to personal preference. Both have goods and bads, it's just about what you prefer. Some people don't like how live resin uses solvents, while others don't care. Some people prefer live resin cause it's cheaper, but if money isn't an issue I personally would go with live rosin.

there is a bigger difference, in live rosin there is trichome selection and the trichome heads arrive intact, and get pressed with little to no heat, what can bring a finer and more selected taste, also live resin is way more intense in the lungs due to the terpene concentration, while in live rosin i find it more enjoyable.

I've read that depending on the seller, legal butane hash oil can actually have much more leftover butane than illegally manufactured BHO, just because the current regulations suck and allow for almost unlimited leftover solvents.

The legal limit in Canada is 5000 parts per million, I believe some States it’s 1000

For Hydrocarbon extraction it’s 5000 ppm per gram. Benzene is 2 ppm, Toluene 890 ppm, Hexane 290 ppm, Xylenes 1 ppm. These are trace amounts and pose no known threat. Black Market, if you don’t know the brand you don’t know what your getting. Literally.

The problem is that, most companies who make live resin don’t really care about terps or residual solvents so they end up doing a really shitty extraction that comes out tasting horrible. If there were resin companies on par with hash companies such as 710 or apothecary farms, then live resin would be amazing, but since a lot of companies (especially in legal states like Cali and coli) don’t really put love and care into their resins, it comes out shit, not a lot of terps, and mostly THCA with no other minor cannabinoids

You heard about the issue with flame retardants in black plastics used in food products? well they're also used in the standard black nursery pots that most growers use for living soil! and it is possible for those flame retardants to leach out of the plastic via moisture, it's also possible for the plant roots to absorb those toxins and microplastics. cannabis is known to be a hyperaccumulator of some toxins (no clue if that includes these ones or not) all stuff I had to think about when I started recently planning my own living soil grow. just goes to show, you can never be too sure how "clean" a product really is.

I’m fortunate to live in a state that has incredible quality control and regulations. The prices are very high… but so is the quality of 510’s distillates and live rosins/resin carts. It’s $40-$50 for a tier 1 510, and $60 for a .5g rechargeable disposable Live Rosin cart, but they get it to 78-80% thc sometimes. The one I’m smoking now is 73% and tastes amazing. They got the temp perfect.

With live resin you do tend to loose terpenes after the extraction process is complete with live resins due the vacuum purge after to remove the bho solvent this removes some terpenes leaving the resin at a more stable product live rosin made right has way more terpenes and cannabanoid hence the volatility of rosin(it needs to stay cold) this is terpenes degrading from the heat of the room so I'd say rosin taste more like a natural plant unlike bho sometimes

@@420_momentumhen you purge live resin you expose it to heat for way longer than rosin is exposed to heat, they both test comparably in terps but numbers don’t tell the full story when it comes to how a product containing terpenes and cannabanoids will smell, taste, and smoke. Live resin loses something that rosin doesn’t imo, the effects of rosin are usually more full bodied and longer lasting for me. The taste of live resin is sometimes more pronounced but it usually has a background “bho” taste (not talking butane flavor from unpurged live res but just that slight flavor that makes it not taste just like flower). Live resin can still be great, especially the best of the best, but I usually prefer rosin. Full melt is great too if I feel like treating myself.

If you’re dabbing long term I definitely would recommend solventless, but the catch is i’d only recommend good/great solventless. Similar to bho there’s a big difference between low and high quality rosin, and lower quality rosin can be harsh on the throat despite not having solvents . Also, if you’re not in a legal state good rosin will be fairly pricey. Maine, Cali, and Oregon are the three states that have the best rosin for decent prices (Cali is a bit more, maine has the best quality to value ratio) so if you live in or near those states then daily live rosin is more feasible if budget is a concern. I agree with the person above me who said that live resin is easier on the body than the tar from smoking flower, obviously that only applies to live resin with little to no solvents, if it’s not properly purged then it’s definitely worse than flower.

Live rosin off the press is tasty if it isn't cured and stored right after pressing it the terps do evaporate and the rosin budders, which is why it seems like it has a less terpy flavor profile

Alternatively, you can place the sealed rosin jar in the refrigerator for a few days (usually 2 to 3 days, or up to a week) and then let it finish curing at room temperature for a few weeks.

Something you didn’t consider for BHO is the purging process. When you purge butane from an extract that is “cooking” it. It is boiled off with heat. So you boil off terps as well so the point about difference in flavor is kind of null

Someone needs to start a concentrate workshop here in Florida. 1000% there would be more people onboard the concentrate train if they weren’t so intimidated or if they just had more information on what bangers or terp pearls are. ask an ole head what a chazzed bucket is and you’ve lost him. It's not for tuning it's for lubricating the string on the bow so it doesn't catch a groove on the cello/violin string and make a horrible scratching noise

Grow your own bro. There's your perfect world. I grow my own in organic living soil using only liquid compost to feed the soil and it's absolutely great. I don't know why everyone isn't growing their own weed. I'm a Major pot-snob now but it's all good. 😂 LOL

Ill tell you this as a long time pot head.. .. live rosin is the closest thing to the actually bud. The effects are the same while live resin still feels synthetic. I love rosin
