I've been to Panama three times in the last 5 years, most recently most of February though the beginning of March with my girlfriend. She's from Colon and we traveled to Bocas and stayed is Casco Viejo as well. I plan to purchase real estate there in the next few years and I have to say these youtube Q&A's are the most informative and helpful I've ever seen! Thanks for what you do and I'm sure I'll be needing your services as we are highly interested in visiting the Chiriqui province during our next visit.

Jackie is a wealth of information. I listen to her videos as the soundtrack of my daily life as I always learn something new. What concerns me is when I hear folks from the US wanting to bring their firearms to this low-crime country. The point of coming to Panama is to get away from the US, politics, thinking and way of life. The 2nd amendment regarding guns does not apply here in Panama. I wish folks would have respect for this country and not bring their crime paranoia and guns here.

no one can bring their guns into Panama currently - there is a ban on importing guns. Agree that the point of moving to Panama is to have a BETTER LIFE for LESS.

Thanks for the rich information that is provided. Regarding the two years income tax statements required in order to open a bank in Panama, what about those who have retired longer than two years and haven't filed a tax return.

You'll need to get a tax transcript that you do not owe taxes - you can get the transcript online.

Exactly! The rules are different in Panama. When you live in Panama, you must go by Panama's rules

You have freedom of religion but there are limits to freedom of speech. You could get deported if you bad mouth the Panamanian government, lawyers, or businesses.

Yes, you can get a Friendly Nations Visa. You are not required to get the same visa that your husband gets.
