Britain's Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has apologised to the victims of UK's infected blood scandal. An investigation into the case has revealed that 30,000 people caught HIV and hepatitis due to the blood transfusions they received under the NHS' care between the 1970s and 1990s. While admitting to the then governments' fault in the matter, Sunak said that he was "sorry" for the lives that have been lost. The UK government will reportedly announce a compensation package for the victims of the scandal, which has led to 3,000 deaths until now. According to Sunak's testimony in the British Parliament- the government will do "whatever it takes" after an official inquiry into the matter revealed the gory details of the case.
