It was definitely closer than most people realise, bc Usyk was shaken a couple of times by Fury. Although the punching stats say Usyk clearly won. Fury’s punches that landed are naturally slightly more powerful and Usyk’s ability to take punches, is slightly less than Fury’s.

First 3 don't have much in them, fury takes over until he gets caught at the end of the 7th, 8,9,10 are Usyk. 11/12 fury recovers and it's pretty even again! If fury doesn't get caught wins rounds 8/9, doesn't get knocked down and wins on points. It's fractions, it's not a Usyk - Joshua, AJ had 0 chance of outboxing Usyk, Fury could comeback and potentially win on points against Usyk! The first fight was a competitive fight, but it was not a close fight. Anyone who thinks so needs more time to understand boxing. I agree with your analysis, round for round. Usyk won 8 or 9 of the 12 rounds. Two of those judges' scorecards are a reminder of the corruption in boxing. Who was the judge who scored 114 - 113 in favour of Fury? When you consider the embarrassment of advantages that Fury has - height, reach, and weight - it just shows how superior the "cossack" is to "the fighting man whom no one born of a mother can ever beat," apparently. I think all judges should be licensed (assuming they’re not) and held more accountable for their scoring. To the extent that after every fight there should be a debrief where they have to talk through their scoring in front of a video of the whole fight, round for round, with an unbiased and higher official to ensure that the judges are fit to do their job and score accurately. The judge who gave the fight to Fury was an immediate red flag and seemed more reminiscent of Eurovision Song judging.

@@Tuggers1986I thought Fory won 4,5,6,7 and probably 12. (7 & 12 are swing rounds). Rest of it was clearly Usyk.
@billyphillips5465 күн бұрын
Think round 7 is the biggest swing round but like you say he was slowing down and think uysk came on strong in the 2nd half of the round which makes me give it to him, agree on 9-3…struggle to see how you can score it differently tbh
@AdamRuAlright7 күн бұрын
8-4 to Usyk imo Clear Usyk rounds: 1,2,8,9,10,11 Closer rounds I gave to Usyk: 3,12 Clear Fury rounds: 4,5,6 Closer rounds I gave to Fury: 7 Even if you gave all the closer rounds to Fury he still loses by 1 point due to the knockdown.

Usyk clear winner but not by a long mile
@SuperChalkster7 күн бұрын
so out of the 3 close rds you gave 2 of them to usyk? biast much or not? imo 7 wasnt that close i give 4-5-6-7 as furys clear rds, the close rds were 3 and 12, but all 3 judges gave fury the 12th, it was 7-5 in rds to usyk worst case for fury. 115-112. but usyk deserved to win and he did so its all just opinions, haters say its 9-3 and fury getting stopped next time, and fury fans say it was razor close, reality is it was 7-5 usyk himself even scored it 7-5

Spot on TG. Also Usyk's legs are more athletic, Fury's look too thin for that great bloke.

The judge who give it to fury is corrupt or incompetent.
@AlexM-sg8fn7 күн бұрын
I’d put money on ‘corrupt’, it was impossible to score that fight in Fury’s favour

Absolutely agree i dont know how u can score it any different unless u are a fury fan boy its not even close
@princegeorge137 күн бұрын
It was easy to score the first time and still easy to score when u rewatch it...all these people saying that it was a close fight are just delusional or simply waffling. Usyk clearly won

It was 3 - 3 at the start of round 7. What a fucking fight it was man
@JPayne957 күн бұрын
Round 7 for me is edged by usyk for his landing but fury slips and rolls so many punches that would've ended the fight at that point, it's crazy.

That was a robbery just for the shire fact that it was a split decision! The judge that gave that to Fury, should be sacked.

Fun facts: - Many people think that Fury was dominating until he got caught in 9th rd - The three judges gave rd 12 to Fury - Two of three judges gave rd 2 to Fury - Some of boxing fans think Usyk only had one good round (rd 9), and stated one good rd doesn't win boxing, they thought Fury got robbed

I’m a pure neutral from nz , no loyalty to either fighter , In simplistic terms I saw it as a fight of two halves , first half very competitive, close , in the first half you could make a case for fury , but not in a way where it was clear dominance, Second half clear win to usyk , that’s where usyk wins for me , in the times when he was better, it was more dominant than anything fury did

It was by round six I thought usyk was going to lose this fight I felt really down watching it and couldn’t hardly watch anymore , then usyk pulled it back gradually and round 9 my house went ballistic into cheers and jumping up and down.

For me Usyk seems to always take a few mid rounds off, apply constant pressure, not throw much and make the opponent unload. When they have emptied the tank, he turns up the heat. He’s done this in quite a few fights. It’s like he lets the opponent believe they are having success and when he comes back stronger it’s breaks them even further. Serious fighting spirit and wining mentality. Only a mad man would pick against him.

I am a Fury fan. but it looks plain that Uysk won. I have never looked at it like that. I think that with boxing, if you are watching your favourite, then you can be watching out for their shots more

At certain points fury is framing with his lead hand which is a foul, even tho I think it should be legal, the ref didn't warn him a single time

Three low blows and a couple of foot stomps helped Fury win rounds four, five and six. Usyk made him pay for it in rounds seven, eight and nine.

Pretty spot on jordie,but when fury was getting pinged from corner to corner the ref should of stopped it as fury wasn't returning fire.

Would have been an almighty fuss if he had but what he did was worse, giving Fury 18 seconds recovery. He should have stayed out of it.

@@JamieLowe-xp1le Doesnt matter if he was pinged first time in a fight. Because if your opponent becomes just a living punching bag the ref must end the match by tko.

FINALLY someone talking some actual sense about the Fury "showboating" he's clear as day just trying to laugh it off and give himself time in there as he's probably realising "fuck, this is a lot harder than I thought it would be and I'm getting outboxed here"
@AlexM-sg8fn7 күн бұрын
Correct, it’s the oldest trick in the book, clowning to try and cover up the embarrassment of being put on the back foot by Usyk from the off, he didn’t know what to do at that point and knew he was looking like a fool

I have it 8-3-1 with them tying on round 7. I know people don't like that but fuck'um. I score it evenly on a technical merit but it's the round the momentum fully shifts in Uysk's favor. He doesn't adjust again after 7. He's dialed Fury in and the rounds prove it.

Great commentary Brian, 100% right. You should apply for Richie Woodhall’s job, at the time of the fight if it had been snooker you would think he was commentating the game on the other side of the curtain…and he still hasn’t apologised for getting it so wrong.
