Their argument that “it’s better to have pogo’s to continue legally because they’ll just go underground if banned and continue with their illegal activity anyways” is pathetic excuse. Possesion of guns and other firearms is basically illegal here in the Philippines and illegal gun possessions still exist. So should we then just make possession of guns and firearms legal now and allow anybody to possess guns? Imagine the horror of criminal violations and all the killings that would happen left and right if that would happen. So their reasoning and argument for pogo’s to continue is absurd. Having Pogos banned will make operating pogos underground more difficult as opposed to having it legally continue. Just as having a law making possession of guns illegal makes it more difficult for criminals to acquire them hence less crime as opposed to likely more crimes if it is allowed. Having Pogo’s banned would prevent them to built these large compounds and hide behind the walls. Smaller pockets of illegal pogo’s will be much easier to spot and detect and that will surely help deter these criminal syndicates from operating here in the Philipines.
