As part of the Suvarna Bharati Mahotsava being observed as a year-long celebration to commemorate the 50th year of Sannyasa of His Holiness Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sri Sharada Peethadhishwara Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam, His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam has directed the conduct of Bhagavata Saptaha wherein 108 scholars from various parts of the country will assemble at Sringeri and perform the Parayana of the Mahapurana. This event will also feature daily discourses on Srimad Bhagavata, Vishnusahasranama Parayana, Shankara Stotra Pathana, Namasankirtana, Akshara-laksha japa of Vasudeva Dvadashakshari Mahamantra and Mahapuja.
Listening to the parayana of Srimad Bhagavata Mahapurana bestows all welfare. The significance of Srimad Bhagavata is detailed in many places such as Skanda and Padma purana.
