Show-Ya are peers of the legendary Loudness, and a bit older than other legendary bands: X Japan, Seikima II, Mari Hamada. It was the first wave of all femal rock/metal bends. This 80/90 wave died out in the late 90s. In 2005, Captain Mina founded the girl metal band (probably mostly cover) Destroya. The vocalist was Eye (later Mary's Blood). In 2007, the band changed its name to Destrose, and so began the 2nd wave of Japanese All Femal Rock/Metal Bends. Destroya/Destrose was followed by Scandal, Aldious, Gaharic Spin, Mary's Blood, Bridear, Cyntia, LoVendoЯ,... In addition to Show-Ya, Princess Princess also stood out. Initially very pop, but in 1996 he played like this: Princess Princess - Guitar Man kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWrQfoCbjpmNesk Show-Ya's relationship with the younger bands of the second wave (Nemophila, Gaharic Spin) is amazing.

I was introduced to Show-Ya around 87 when a friend made me listen to a cassette he brought back, I was hooked. As the sponsor of Naon Yaon, Show-Ya is revered I would say by female artists who shared the stage with them, Mary's Blood, Gacharic Spin, Lisa-X, Destrose, Band Maid, etc... so many more to name. If not for Show-Ya, I am not sure if Destrose, Aldious and Gacharic Spin would had existed in this way and led the 2nd generation of All female Rock/Metal bands when the industry was dominated by idol groups.

Nice cool video. One of my favorite songs. SHOW-YA is in my top 5 Japanese Female Band list. Wish I had known about this great metal band back in the 80s. Loudness is the only Japanese metal I was lucky to see in concert and watched a couple of their videos late night. Nemophila also does a cover of this song and a couple others. They are also connected to Lovebites because the rhythm section gave Miho the name Rosana. They stil play live and I enjoy watching them perform. They are called the Godmothers of Japanese Female Metal.
