Looks excellent. I'm sure there's plenty of UK collectors, myself included, who would be more than happy to help contribute to the relevant section of an international version.

The only thing better than seeing this video is the feeling I will have when I get to thumb through the book myself. I can't express how excited I am about this project & how thankful I am for all of the hard work you & your team put into this. Also, as a graphic designer for over a decade, I just want to say that some of the choices made were ones I couldn't have made, which is a huge compliment. I'm usually hyper critical of most books for that reason, but in this case it is designed so well that it is hard to critique. Problem solving is the name of the game & your designer killed it on this.

You said the words "passion project". That is an understatement. Your passion for this is lightyears beyond the average GIJoe fan and I can't tell you how much I respect and appreciate that. Collectors of other toy lines will see this book and say "Why can't we have this?!" Because they don't have a Carson and Chad. That's it, that's the reason. Stellar job, gents. I am really looking forward to getting this book.

Man, I wish I would’ve known about the pictures in the front and back. I recently found a bunch of photos of my brother and I putting together the flag Christmas morning as well as a bunch of others. Would’ve been so cool to be a part of the history. This book is amazing!!♥️💯

This is truly a labor of love Carson. It shows the passion, dedication, and years of work to get this book done. It will surely make happy a lot of GI Joe fans and for that alone you should be proud. Thank you and your team for making this happen; it is truly amazing! I am myself very passionate about GI Joe and would love to order a copy but can’t because I live in Spain. If there is any way that that I can get my copy and sent to Spain will be much appreciated. Thanks again and congratulations for making this book become a reality!

@@3djoes How many others collaborated in this project? Was it all you or were you bouncing ideas with a handful of others? Were you delegating certain tasks such as conducting interviews with ex-Hasbro personnel, layout editing, and writing out the articles to make this all come together in a reasonable time? And did you pour through a number of books in the coffee table / pictoral format in advance in order to give yourself a good idea on the direction of this book? I'm a huge fan of stuff by DK Publishing and Insight Editions and have amassed a small collection of their books over the years, which have covered a wide range of topics from The Human Body and World War II to Spiderman and James Bond. Just by the preview alone, I can already tell that your omnibus boasts the same level of polish and panache that the folks at DK and Insight Editions deliver in their products. It is a cipher of information and nostalgia that is exhaustive in its scope without being exhausting to the reader's patience. I really liked the many design decisions you made in the book that could have easily derailed it into a congealed mass of incoherence had it been done in less capable hands. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been figuring out how to keep things from becoming stale and repetitive in a 700+ page book. I grew up with the Real American Hero line as a child and dropped off around the time I got into Sega and Nintendo, but I always maintained a peripherary interest in the line during the many weird up-and-down periods it went through in the late 80's and early 90's. I was never a fan of the latter era of this line, but I do appreciate that your book contains a robust and informative timeline of these events in what was (arguably) the most polarizing era in its history. You managed to give context to that part of history, and it's a credit to you that you' managed to present it in a very thoughtful and compelling way. I think (for me) that is what the true mark of a good book is. It's always easy to do a powerful write up for something when the material you are covering is undeniably bold. It's when you wade into the more fraught subject matter that things become more challenging and I think you managed to strike a good balance of this and maintaining your momentum through the good and bad. It convinces the reader that it's worth staying aboard during the whole journey until the very end. As to the PixelDan reference I made in your Q&A, it wasn't meant to put you, Carson Mataxis, in an awkward position, nor was it meant to take a cheap shot at Mr. Eardley's effort. I just felt that his book was extraordinarily average in terms of how the final product turned out. To be fair, the Masters of the Universe line is also a mammoth franchise in its own right, with a longevity that rivals that of ARAH. Doing a book that covered four different toylines spanning three decades under the Mattel umbrella was never going to be an easy task, so I applaud PixelDan for taking up the challenge. He clearly has a love for MOTU, as anyone who has seen his youtube videos will know, so I realize that for Dan, his MOTU book was as much a passion project for him as your Omnibus book was for you, Carson. I just wish his book was more than just a collection of snapshot photos of mint-on-card action figures from collectors from around the U.S.. The book was not unlike your basic run of the mill action figure trading guide from the 1990's. The only standout feature was the handful of interviews that were interspersed in between the usual fare to help break up the monotony. I'm sure PixelDan had the purest of intentions when he wrote his book, but I think he may have gotten caught up in the immensity of the subject matter. I hope that if he's reading this he is not dissuaded in any way. His honest to goodness enthusiasm when he announced his book is part of the reason why his book was so disappointing in the first place. Perhaps PixelDan may take some of these criticisms to heart and look to your book as a working template to work from if he decides to take another stab at writing a book in the future.

Wow … Congratulations on this millstone achievement!!! You were saying in the video of other future projects that you are thinking about doing ofter this book. How about the ARAH Toys book? I know all the toys pictures or on the website. But there is nothing that feel better than holding a book and going through the pictures on paper. I will definitely buy that book!!! Or the book of all Vehicles blue print. Thank you so much for all the work you are doing.

I would feel bad / or it wouldn’t feel as rewarding creatively to retread what Mark Bellomo has already done well with his guide book. I’ve got a half dozen ideas though of some new territory to cover!

Gotta say, Tiger Force repaints were ugly, but Python Patrol and Night Force had interesting repaints. I would argue that the Night Force repaints of Tunnel Rat and Outback were every bit as good as their original versions.
