Thank you Markell! I look forward to listening tonight. Just a small modification- I'm down here in Peru, but I imagine that veterans in Ecuador probably would have the same difficulties. One piece of info: the request for reimbursements from FMP have only been for doctor's visits and prescription refills so far, only service connected,. The health care system in Colombia sounds like it is much more modernized and efficient, as compared to it's surrounding neighbor countries. True story here- Last year I was in the Amazon when I had an accident and fractured my wrist. I visited a local doctor and had an x-ray taken, inside of corral for animals, the only x-ray machine for probably 50-75kms. I kid you not, that machine looked like it was from the 1960's. They processed the image using those old techniques in a dark room for developing the image on the film. It was like something out of a movie, but it worked.

Just one more thought for tonight's program- The VA suicide helpline is truly a Godsend which has probably saved countless lives. I learned that veterans overseas, anywhere in the world, can call that number and they will talk/assist the veteran. However, when the call terminates, there is no further assistance the VA staff can provide at that point. This was the case in 2021 and I'm sure those crisis nurses are probably frustrated that their hands are tied. If their policies have not changed since then, this is one thing that I hope to see changed in my lifetime as it does not take much to provide follow-up care for the potentially suicidal veteran, via telehealth or phone for a small duration of time.
