Wemhoff is highly underrated in these circles. Great interview.

Excellent show! As a young teen Vat II was a nuclear explosion for me. My younger brother pretty much lost his faith!!! 🙏🏻 Everything the good Sisters taught us was thrown out! Instead of Almighty God we have a focus on priest and ppl. Seriously?

John Courtney Murray observed: “The course of the development between the Syllabus of Errors (1864) and Dignitatis Humanae Personae (1965) still remains to be explained by theologians". So much for the hermeneutic of continuity.

Our family lived through Vatican II - the greatest tragedy of our times. You document the Counsel being influenced by all these outside influences, not to mention, Protestant participators/consultants and modernists galore. Bottom line, the words chosen, the ideas chosen in the documents, all together, resulted in the abandonment of the faithful, and destruction of our true Catholic faith. Lives and souls were destroyed, lost, and continue to be so because of Vatican II. It can never be rectified other than to denounce it in its entirety. All these excuses of this and that influence and pressure are, honestly, sickening. The Catholic Church must claim the truth: Christ is King. Amen.

Perhaps many of those who left due to Vatican II never really had Faith in the Most Holy Trinity and Christ and His Promises that the gates of Hell would not prevail. Perhaps some had a practice of the faith that was semi-Pelagian in that there external postures, actions, and saying a certain amount of Prayers in a certain way or only in Latin, etc would be the means to Gods Grace rather than a consequence of God's Grace.
@bj-th7rd2 ай бұрын
@PalermoTrapani No, it wasn’t that at all. It was the exact opposite. Having fallen madly in love with the faith at our grandmother’s knees, and having been taught at age 7 in Catechism Class by beautiful, faithful Benedictine Sisters that we could place in our hearts forever what we had just been taught, that the Catholic Church could and would never ever change these things, that it was blasphemy to touch the Most Blessed Holy Eucharist with our hands, and then only a few years later to have the altar rails removed and demands made to receive standing and to take Our Dear Lord in our hands was enough for even children to understand we were not in “Oz” anymore.

@@bj-th7rd Again you are using certain rubrics as being the faith. I have nothing against Churches with altar rails, but having them or not having them has nothing to do with any Dogma or Doctrine of the Faith. It doesn't change that I Believe in the Nicene-Constantinopolitan or Apostles Creed and all the Trinitarian and Christological Dogmas expressed in those Creeds, nor that there are 7 Sacraments nor that we are Saved by God's Grace which is what gives us the ability to have True Faith (not just mere knowledge or trust) in God hat has to be formed by Love to follow the 1st Commandment to Love God and thus all that follows from it. My family, all of them, were part of the Italian Immigrants that came to the USA between 1890-1920. Thus, like the other Catholic ethnic groups, the Polish, the Germans from South German/Bavaria or Austria, they all tended to live in isolated Catholic communites. Very isolated and thus formed on the Baltimore Catechism like my parents. That was good in so much as teaching young people who lived in Catholic communities with little contact outside, but as the Post war economic expansion and Catholics from Irish, Italian, Polish, Bavarian-German, etc moved out of those old Catholic neighborhoods into the broader American society, many Catholics were not equipped to deal with challenges from the secular culture, atheist and yes Protestant pop apologetics. It had nothing to do with Vatican II in so much as what Vatican II taught. Implementation issues in the 1970/1971 as I started pre-school/Kindergarten, yes that was not well done.

@palermoTrapani With all due respect, the Church of Our Dear Lord; the One. Holy. Catholic. and Apostolic. Church; the Church of our true Catholic faith, the Catholic Church that I know and love, consists of so so so much more than just its Doctrines which I behold. God is deserving of all our love, all our belief, all our reverence. Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi, Lex Vivendi.

I’ve heard all of this John Courtney Murray, Time, CIA, stuff from E. Michael Jones for years. He’d be a great guest for you Bob.

When Trump spoke right after the shooting, I thought he had a Pulp Fiction (movie) moment, if you know that scene. You could see that as divine intervention or luck or coincidence. It’s all up to you. But I think he knows.

He said Pius IX got rid of bad actors. An example of how the Church can clean itself up.

I have his book but haven't read it. He reminds me of E Michael Jones--speaking some controversial truths, which he mixes with things that aren't--hence, to me, sounds and looks suspect.

Hi Robert. Are you going to far afield instead of concentrating on the Vatican. I love your podcast and it is my favourite podcast. I hope you do not be led away by fringe people, conspiracy theories . I think you are searching for answers to our present dilemma in our holy church. Why is the pope crippling the Latin mass after ST.John Paul and pope Benedict both gave their blessing for it. I fail to understand this. Bishop Barron says the devil divides and the Holy Spirit unites. Isn’t pope Francis blantly dividing. Keep up the great work. Robert

What is more Vatican than Vatican II ? What David Wemhoff has set out is 100% fact. The conspiracy aspect of it is the conspiracy, the secret acting of people in concert, to change/manipulate/damage the Roman Catholic Church.
