Winchester speedway in Indiana had folks in the trees until someone got killed when a car left the track. For years you could still see a chair that was attached to a tree.

Took my wife to her very first race at Bowman Grey. We got mobbed by drunk teenagers and their parents. They tried to start a fight but luckily the people around us didn’t back down either. She will never go back. I remember as a child/teen going with my parents and it was a great place. The alcohol always ruins anything good.
