LIVE | US Presidential Debate 2024: Biden Stumbles as Trump Comes out Swinging | Vantage on Firstpost
The first presidential debate between President Joe Biden and his Republican rival, Donald Trump took place on Thursday. While Trump was loud and forceful with his points, Biden was struggling to give coherent replies. Donald Trump had his weak moments as well, but the moderators failed to fact-check him. The 2024 presidential debate has been different from the previous ones for more than one reason. First, neither Biden nor Trump has been officially nominated, they are presumptive nominees. Second, unlike previous debates, there was no live audience. Both President Biden and his Republican rival Trump attacked each other over many issues ranging from cost-of-living crisis and abortion rights to the war in Ukraine and Gaza. Former President Trump also made a series of unsubstantiated claims during the debate. He talked about ending the war in Ukraine and Gaza, but he did not mention how he would do that.
