Incredible talent! Have seen him live twice. Once playing his own music and once the music of Jimi. He is incredible!

His more is more way of playing can turn into a jumbled mess sometimes, he's still awesome. You should broaden your catalog of players! 👍

Lmao the guy hasn't written a memorable song in his entire life and is reduced to dressing up like Jimi in 2023 to try and make a few bucks 😂

If Jimi saw this he would probably go: "So that's what I've been missing out on guitar... Now I know it's possible. Let's get to work." After he recovered from the shock, that is. Stanley has always been way underappreciated except by people who are really, really into guitar. I, too, am seriously surprised to see Stanley play like this. Pentatonics all the way. Musically speaking, especially theory-wise, I've never been at the level to understand what he's usually playing, but this I dig. Not that I can play like that, I just dig it. Go Stanley.

I was wondering if Stanley Jordan would ever go in a more rock n roll direction. This is awesome. Should have done this years ago

Stanley Jordan’s Magic Touch debut is one of the MOST beautiful, innovative, guitar albums I’ve ever heard, and I’ve been a HUGE Allan Holdsworth fan since about 1980. I’m not sure why , but Stanley has struggled, gotten lost since his debut album. His playing on Magic Touch is unlike anyone I’ve ever heard, brilliant, musical, innovative, spontaneous, improvisational. I hope he eventually recaptures the focus, direction, brilliance he displayed on Magic Touch, because it would be criminal not to fully realize that very innovative, musical moment. As a fellow guitarist, most players are derivative. Stanley had something singular, pianistic, deeply harmonic, improvisational, profoundly different and musical. Hendrix was CERTAINLY an important guitar moment in time, but Stanley’s Magic Touch was the full evolution of Hendrix’s contributions. I’m appreciative of Stanley’s incorporating a more traditional approach into his music, but what he had at his debut was something singular, innovative, important. Sometimes you just have to stick to your guns.

Incredible drumming! Playing rolls on the snare drum with one hand! He is on a par with Keith Moon, Mitch Mitchell, Bill Bruford, and Ginger Baker.

@@KokoTheGorilla69 You should google who Stanley Jordan is. Your comment is a real facepalm moment... and yes, some of the very best musicians in the world play small clubs and aren't rich. Mind you, a lot of the audience is pro.

Easily in the top 10 of all the greatest guitar players! Proof the universe is not fair as he is hardly mentioned. I remember seeing him in 1986 playing an old Beatles song. One of the greatest guitar performances I ever witnessed. Its a crime if he is not financially set for life.

To be in the top 10 you should have the ability to write a song, which he doesn't
