Live Webinar 'An Audience With... Annabel Hamilton'

Borders-based arable and beef farmer Annabel Hamilton, joined Andrew Robinson, Head of Agriculture, for the fifth episode of our 'Audience With...' series.
Annabel, alongside her father Will, farm 2,500 acres along the Berwickshire coast. They produce high-quality malting barley for Simpsons Malt which is then shipped all over the world. One particular heritage variety, Golden Promise is used by Timothy Taylor in West Yorkshire. Annabel and Will also fatten over 300 cattle a year, produced for quality butchers.
Despite her youth, Annabel is highly experienced in farm management having gained valuable insight whilst overseeing the arable operations of large farm businesses in Northumberland and Lincolnshire before returning to the family farm in recent years.
Annabel recently took the spotlight on the ‘Farmers of the UK’ Twitter page and has a large following herself. She regularly shares how she and her father are approaching the subject of succession, something she sees as a vitally important topic in Agriculture. She discussed this and revealed more details of the family’s latest diversification - a pick your own pumpkin patch. She also divulged some of the highly efficient practices her family employs on their farm to gain valuable time back and ensure the business is thriving.
