Thank you for having them on Alan. They bring back a lot of good memories I still see Terri sometimes on QVC. I still refer to her as Katie.They never should have taken those soaps off the air. Many people today still miss them. They were replaced with things most people weren’t interested in.

billiejon, You know there were reasons why World Turns was cancelled right? The ratings were terrible, CBS was actually losing money for keeping the show on. Les Moonves wanted to trim the soap lineup to save money. The storylines weren’t that great when World was cancelled snd the production values were slim to none. And this is coming from someone who dearly loved the show for 45 years. It was inevitable that the show would be cancelled at some point. I would be satisfied if a streaming channel would start showing classic episodes that were available. 😊😊

@@der22672 That's all true. Soaps are all a financial liability. That is why one is on streaming. The three others are on life support, and unfortunately I believe their days are numbered also.

@@der22672 they cut their budget and the cast. It’s harder to make a good show when you do that. They needed to get new writers and keep their sets. The location sets and cameras were awful.

@@ameliaerin1544 I would have to respectfully disagree if anything Josh Griffith with Vivian gundaker there is really running the show and headwriting it in a great way. If anything young and the restless right now is looking a lot like as the world turns did when Doug Marland wrote it. But to each his own. If anything days is looking too ridiculous and bold and the beautiful I can't even watch anymore and that's sad. And as for days I love Ron carlivati and his love for oltl and the ABC shows bur he was a better writer under frank valentini who knew how to tell him no that's to ridiculous.

Benjamin I would have to disagree with Amelia I think about y and r it's the best one right now. And if anything y and r is looking like the Doug Marland atwt. With Vivian there helping Josh Griffith not only executive produce the show but he is also the sole headwriter of the show and doing the breakdowns himself. A lot like Doug Marland did at loving. Who would have thought Josh Griffith would evolve into someone who actually understands a whole soap with a rich history and do it well. Compared to the bells at bold and the beautiful and days right now.

What a great interview. You two were my favorites and it's so good to see how good that you two and your family are. Thank you for sharing your time and family stories with your fans. I'll never forget, years ago, when Austin was in DOOL, before ATWT, back when you could check in at the gates, I paged my passengers who haven't checked in. When I paged Austin to check in, I asked for an autograph and when he handed it to me, it was a drawing of a superhero. Super nice guy. The scenes with Katie and Brad when he was passing away. Oh the writing for Katie and her acting was out of this world amazing. Oh, what about the rabbit. How was that to have a rabbit on TV? I loved those scenes. And I loved the friendship between Katie and Henry.

I had no idea Terri was an actress when she debuted on QVC, and I immediately loved her as a new host! Then, she mentioned once having previously worked on soaps and that’s when I Googled her and realized she was also married to Austin Peck (who I’ll admit I had a crush on as a gay teenager in the 90s from watching DOOL). I hope QVC is good to her and that she sticks around-I feel the same as a lot of people do, especially as a man living alone, the QVC hosts are my friends and I watch it daily, and if I’m not watching it, it’s on for background noise. Terri, you looked STUNNING the other day in that floor length gown on jewelry day btw!!!!

Same here! I am a longtime QVC customer and had no idea of Terri's prior career history. I may be one of few people who have never watched any soap operas. (More of a movie and streaming service fan). Terri is a great host; very upbeat and kind. Glad to see her and her husband here. Nice!

Trust me I could not agree more. I have repeaditely bean banging my loud drum to Alan and others about my ideas for fixing and remixing all 3 p and g shows which could be done with today's technology. And trust me I would rather see great storytelling again VS stereotypical marketing like it is just the 1950s housewife female only model which stuff like the view and the talk do. VS what daytime used to do. With guys like Paul Rauch and Doug Marland God I miss that even santa Barbara.

A great interview Alan and a happy one I was hoping you got that link I sent you so you could show Terri when kattie was born but I guess it did not happen. Also I dealt with dementia so I understand from my late dad and my mother's late husband as my parents divorced when I was 6. Also I am sure hogan kicked himself for letting Austin go at days after he started playing brad because brad was so different as a charecter. But that's how it should be when another writer screws up or ep then the best medicine is take the actor write a great story and shove it down the old shows face so they go why didn't I think of that. But to be fair to hogan he was right about days after Jim Reilly with the guys needing to be given their balls back and that's his words. Not mine. To bad hogan fixed it for the first 6 months then messed days up again. But out of that atwt got Austin and the show needed him as brad to bring back some of the stuff and the side of the Snyders that had been missing since the Doug m days with holden and Caleb. Plus the brad henry dynamic was a bit like the old Paul Andy dynamics from the Doug m days and atwt needed that. Now giving brad a teenage daughter with liberty I am not so sure that was such a good idea but Austin certainly for once gave Katie and Terri an age appropriate acting partner.

@@benjaminautieri9606 your welcome Benjamin yesterday I watched the Andrea Evans tribute with Micheal fairman and Paul Rauch came up on how he would get bored and start saying things to his writers like let's do an adventure storyline like eternia. So I see where harding Lemay and Doug Marland got that from. With write 6 month story arcs. But unlike other eps he was teaching writers gifts like using imagination and seeing things from who is watching. And of course the faux Bo story came up with Patrick londan who was thought dead having plastic surgery to look like Bo and kidnaping bo's wife didi and the electric fence that killed didi. And I am bringing it up becauze I see where Chris goutman got it from because he acted on Texas I think while Paul Rauch was ep still before Gail kolbe took over. And I also think about how when you write good stories that please fans on how much fun it can be for the actors too. While bieng true to how the charecter is. But for some reason I keep coming back to another world and that early 1993 period and the da. Fowler Amanda Cory mess. And not doing a great story to fix it. Same with atwt when melenie Smith left. Which took years to fix. Or Chris goutmans awful decision to kill Austin's charecter off during the last year of the show. Now I heard certain things at the time that was reported in sod magazine. Which I won't get into. But it still bothers me that it took years to give Terri a leading man that was age appropriate and a costar that was just happy to be there and did not want to leave in 2 years. And got her charecter out of doing dumb things like pining after holden or Simon or Mike kasnoff. And I will say it to this day then put her charecter through what her mother went through with Casey Katie's dad. Who she never got to know. In still one of the finest daytime stories ever told that really highlighted a person's right to die with dignity and with Bill shanks agreeing to come back for 6 months to do that story. And I say that because katie finally had a child of her own after years of wanting a child. And got it with Brad. To then do that awful storyline of killing him off and don't get me started on the dumb stuff the show did with Chris hughes for years. And then have another fine actor like Daniel Cosgrove who was exhausted take over the role and try and force the Chris hughes katie Chris pairing. So I will say this why the heck did you not just hire Austin to play Chris hughes and do that pairing back in 2006 or 2007 VS the dumb jack katie pairing. And I say that because I watched Alan's podcast of the benefit for marnie and Austin was great at that too.
