Hi Kimberly. You don't ever have to worry about your stitches being "ugly". Your stitching is magnificent - don't worry - they all look great.
@nancy-katharynmcgraw26692 жыл бұрын
Kimberly, can you please define "ugly?" I have been thinking about it... is it that the top of the stitches do NOT lay flat over the (also maybe not flat) bottom? So, railroading the threads/stitches maybe the answer? Can't put into other words what you may mean by "stitches look ugly." I think because everyone's self is the most critical of yourself, it's fair to judge yourself & your work. Just please help us understand what you mean by "stitches look ugly." Many thanks!

You are a trooper to do a 1-hour and 46-minute video!! Thank you! I love the special guests and appreciate the work it takes to do those episodes. Two questions: 1) Is there a template to make a sampler for 9 squares for Lori's Stitch Cards? 2) How can you stitch on 14-count when so many designs these days are for 36-count and up? What count do you use for ornaments and samplers, so they don't come out huge? I don't like stitching on higher counts but don't want everything so large. Thanks for all that you do for the stitching community! I love when my packages arrive from the Fat Quarter Shop!

Hello Dee TheGardener! We do not have a template for stitching nine of the stitch cards. The recommended cloth count is not required. All that is needed is to make sure your fabric is big enough. We have a cross stitch calculator available here that can help you: bit.ly/3AHr5iF

Sounds like your daughter is doing fine with her driving. Take her to a busy parking lot, and have her park, back out and maneuver the lot. If she can do all that with ease you can rest easy knowing that she's a good driver. You mentioned the question you got from a viewer about your choice of fabric now. I was thinking the same thing. I'm happy that you still like 14ct, and I always liked the comparison between the 14ct you stitched on, and the higher counts that Cheryl stitches. Love the videos and look forward to the next one.

When I learned to drive a Stick shift my husband took me out to the community college parking lot on a Saturday afternoon. So glad my children’s schools gave drivers education classes. Kimberly, since you work up series that come out over the course of a year, and then you want to frame in the matching frames, when you are selecting a frame, let the framer know you will be doing two more over the year or whatever you plan to do. Because framers order the frame "canes" in 10 or 12 foot pieces and cut the pieces the length to make your frame. So they will have leftovers from your first frame. They later use the leftovers or throw them out. Some will be discontinued. but they are available for years. Varies from one companie to another.

So thankful you were able to plan & carryout your plans for your family vacation, Kimberly!!! We 3 children went with our parents on annual round trips to see relatives & usually added 2 or 2 side trips. We were driven in a four door car, or a station wagon (1950's style) from either Michigan or Ohio to Southern Alabama, to Miami, Fl, to a NW suburb of Atlanta, GA, & back to home We always camped..in varieties of "tents/campers @ state parks) & enjoyed the togetherness, sort of. I am the middle (only sister) of 2 (now very precious brothers). We were visit the few family relatives we had (as they never traveled up North) and both of our parents were only children. I took photos of family headstones, too. I remember HAVING to wear a DRESS in the Southern Baptist Church services & Sunday School. (Tomboy, here). So, ugh!!! I remember leaving the widowed Nana, in Miami by 10 a.m., dropping my elder brother at the laundromat...with dirty laundry, quarters & a book; going siteseeing (Don't remember where...LOL) & returning to get him & the clean, folded laundry. We left by 10 a.m. because Nana & her Canasta card playing friends set up their card tables & began their cigarette smoking & alcohol drinking; were always gone by the time we retuned.. We only stayed @ each family's home 2 nights. In the Atlanta suburb, we stated @ mom's cousin, her husband, 3 daughters & Maggie, the pit bull (so living & gentle) & I learned about the Weimeraner dogs he raised & trained. ALSO, learned about RED Georgia clay...they called it dirt... & girl's softball! Weimaraner is a large dog that was originally bred as a hunting dog in the early 19th century. Early Weimaraners were used by royalty for hunting large game such as boar, bear and deer. Wikipedia Very beige looking with short fur. As an RN, rearing my family, we occasionally followed the same trip, until the older grandparents died, went to their funerals, & seldom kept in touch with mom's cousin in GA. Miss the live & hugs h& positive comments the families made to us, especially at the Robbins family reunuions...lots of great cousins, great aunts & great uncles to go around. My Dad's Mom (Grandmother McGraw) was a Robbins, #12 of 13 children! Other stories, but it gives you a taste of our annual summer family vacations.

There’s nothing wrong with visiting cemeteries, that’s history. Where your ancestors are. We love to visit cemeteries, when we went to South Dakota and did the Custer’s battle field we went through the cemetery. Tell them that’s history. What is the actual intent of Lori’s stitch cards?
@nancy-katharynmcgraw26692 жыл бұрын
I believe it is to provide patterns for several themes, so you can mix & match, try different finishes (all in a row; Vertical or Horizontal) and not have to buy many DMC Floss skeins. Since they are the same size, with or without the border, they can be added to other X-stitch patterns, no matter which designer is chosen. Great starter pieces for beginners. Certainly, changing colors in these designs make them more valuable & it shows how "YOU CAN BE THE BOSS OF YOUR" X-STITCH.

oh my god! can kids not embarrass you every dang time? I pray every time I go anywhere with my kids that they dont embarrass me and if their dad comes along I expect to be thoroughly embarrassed because he's like 12 in a 47 yr old body every dang time. So one embarrassing moment for my daughter is that they were in a Walmart or Winco and her dad decides to run down the aisle, power drive and pick her up and run through the store yelling I got one I got one. She is a very light skinned girl and turned completely red. She said people just laughed and thought how cute. One lady says oh my gosh your brother is crazy. She said I turned purple with shame as I explained he is my dad. She said she felt like every person in the whole humungous store was laughing. I as the mom have to give EVERYONE a dont embarrass me pep talk when we are in public.
