I’m 63 years old. I served in the military. I made friends, lost friends, got laughed at and with, got bombed at shot at and sometimes spat at. Through all of this my resolve was never shaken. Yet for some reason this song broke me and reduced me to a shuddering tearful mess and may possibly have saved my life. For all of you suffering, when you think there’s no help and no light at the end of the tunnel, there is, this song showed it to me.

This song was played at my daughter’s funeral back in 2006. It still tears me up to this day. My Michelle was a victim of a domestic homicide suicide. And the man who murdered her shot and killed himself afterwards. Some days it’s hard to get through even a second of the day but I thank God for my memories of her…Hold your loved ones so very close to you and keep your ears open for any distress that they might show you. Sadly I missed all the signs and it was too late to help her.

I absolutely adore Josh Groban's voice, and really don't like the women he chooses to sing duets with. I'm not a fan of Sarah McLachlan. She purposefully drowns out Josh Groban.
@bradmorris57972 жыл бұрын
@@tmadsam You mean, like when he sings the second verse all by himself? But for real, he is singing harmony the rest of the time. First, harmony is meant to be an accompaniment, not a primary part. Second, much of it is in his falsetto range. Sarah, who wrote the song and is singing the melody part she wrote for herself, is in her power range. So in short, your musical instincts are correct that she is outpowering Josh. But there are several very good reasons why that is, and none of them have anything to do with being malicious.

I have watched this video many times. As a heavy metal guy all i can say is that my words are wholly inadequate. Throughout all of our lives we get fortunate at times to hear and see things that come from deep within the soul of the universe and in that moment, that instant you recognize genoius, perfection, love, and kinship that we all wish would remain in our hearts and thoughts so that when we are needed or in need we find strength and beauty in others. I liked watching the young man behind Sarah in the blue athletic jersey frozen in awe. That was really cool💖

I've read the backstory to this song concerning an escape with meth and the song speaks I think to the mentally ill as well. We try, we get up, we fall, we get up again, we fall and at some point you say, I can't do this anymore. I believe in God and his angels, and I do think he sends them to surround us at a point where we don't believe we can take it anymore. Some get back up again; some don't. I'm now 69 years old and I have felt numerous times in my life like the person in the song. Sarah's music speaks volumes about her capacity to feel true empathy in our plight. Like all things though, God takes a story about drugs and the evil we deal with, and he turns it into a symphony of care and love and protection found in the arms of the Angel. Thank you, Sarah and Josh, for this deeply emotional rendition of the plight of the lost and terrorized.

Beautiful. I haven’t listened to this since they used this song on a commercial supporting abused animals in cages. It was heart breaking. Lol, her smiling here gave me a new feeling for the song.

My mother dies last year. During the churchr ceremony was so many people. All that people adored my mother, she was a golden heart. She belongs a vocal and coral group, when she was the 1st voice (soprano), and she plays piano and "cavaquinho" (a portuguese little guittar). All coral group was there and they play and sang. This song too... I looked for my mother face and she was a expression so peaceful, a smile, a serenity... I was tryed all day do not lost control... but, the music effect, all that lovelly people... my mother's expression... every mixed breaked me down. I runway out of church, and I cryed so compulsive. That was very emotional. I'll never forget that ensambe. 💔😢 💖✨

So sorry to hear about this Mario. As he is below the age of understanding, he will have gone straight to Heaven. He is in a magnificent place full of happiness and no pain or regret or sadness.
