A few years after this I was one of about 60 people watching him performing in a park for free in the poring rain. There where more portable toilets than audience and still I remember his performance was stronger than this one. It was a radio station that paid and almost no one showed up. He and the band still gave everything, it was a magical night and he is a true performer that give his all no matter how many is there! All cred to this man. love his music.

I watched the whole day, aged 13. I have the dvd boxset. I recently saw the stage musical. I have always said the greatest performance of the day was not Queen or U2 or Ultravox though they were fantastic - my favourite performance was Paul Young - top form by he, the band, & bvs

Better late then never rite ? 😊 ... but yeah his career didn’t take off that much in USA I think it had a lot to do with the fact like myself n most people bk in the 80’s Michael Jackson had the whole world mesmerized with his amazing talent . I always assumed, or at least to it for granted, that Tony Hadely and Alison Moyet were the prime voices in the 80's.. Annie Lennox up there as well. Why is it so easy to overlook Paul Young..? That voice is incredible and the performance of this song was truly world beating, up there with any on the day. Also, the damn solo by the singer was incredible, as was the guitar solo.
