Modern pop is objectively lacking - no intros, no solos, little distinction between verses and choruses, no surprise factor, dumbed down melodies, no key changes. Music from the 80's was more sophisticated and will stand the test of time. Current pop won't.

He had the look, he made the demands of instrumentation & melody, singing like a champ & laying a knockout song onto an unsuspecting world . . . & a message that resonates through the decades. Nick Kershaw . . . the thunder rumbled, lightning flashed, & God said, "Thou shall ROCK." And lo, Nick did Rock. HE STILL ROCKS.
@davidhull14812 жыл бұрын
I just read a Guardian “How we Made This Song” article about this one. Nik said that he screwed up the lyrics at Live Aid, but I didn’t notice. Great song.

2:41 It's lowkey brilliant how even though Nik forgot the lyrics here right after "The heat it stifling" and muttered the lyrics from the first verse but rode along with it in a higher octave, actually a great save! Nik and the rest of the phenomenal Band member's nerves might've the most Tense they've ever experienced their whole lives on that day in Live Aid but you cannot deny how Phenomenal all of their performances were!

Inverted on purpose by the ruling "elites". Sadly even this 1985 event was a globalist sham. The musicians were doing it for the right reasons (except for maybe Bono and Geldof), but had no idea of what was actually going on.

As someone who has battled with a mysterious malady that appears to commix (or, “straddle the border” between) severe OCD and schizophrenia for twenty-eight years, I definitely can relate to these poignant lyrics. For me, everyone else’s existence (although I am not omniscient) seems so much saner; simpler; finer; and (most importantly) freer. Upon my discovery that Nik Kershaw performed (performs?) more than one ballad at Live Aid, “I surely can’t wait to hear more 😉!” Love, Natalea Wednesday, September 18, In The Year Of Grace 2024 P. S.: Wishing good health and happier times to anyone reading this who also sometimes feels alone in their problems. 🙏🏻😔💔🌥️
