For you beginners out there..are you looking to get ripped at home? This workout is great for you, and it only requires a set of resistance bands. It is time for you to get in shape at home, and there is no excuse now that you have resistance bands. You can do these exercises at home or if you are traveling, you can do these exercises anywhere with these resistance bands. Make sure to stick around till the end, and I am going to give you the most important thing you need to do to get fit and look ripped. Let’s get started with the exercises in this resistance band workout for beginners at home.
Exercise #1: REAR DELT FLYES. This exercise is going to focus on the rear part of the shoulders. It looks good to have rounded shoulders, so it is important we work the rear shoulder. Really focus on squeezing your shoulders at the top of the movement.
Exercise #2: FACE CURLS. Preload the resistance bands by stepping away from the anchor point. Keep your arms angles upward, and pull the handles toward your face. Really focus on keeping your elbows still in the same place, to focus on only working your biceps in this exercise. If you want to make it harder, hold the contraction at the top of the movement for a couple of seconds.
Exercise #3: TRICEP PUSHDOWN. Your triceps make up such a big portion of the muscle mass in your arm, so we need to make sure to work our triceps. Keep your elbows tucked into your side. Just push the handles down to the side of your thighs, and slowly control the resistance back up. Do your best to keep your elbows in the same place throughout the entire exercise.
Exercise #4: BANDED SQUATS. Make sure to have a wide enough stance. You can bring the bands over your shoulders, or you can have them up in front of you. Stick your butt out, hinge at the hips, then go down. Try to avoid rounding your back when doing squats.
Exercise #5: LATERAL DELT FLY. Keep a slight bend in your elbows, and pull the bands up close to shoulder height. You are going to feel a good burn in your shoulder muscle. This also works your traps as well, in addition to your shoulders.
Exercise #6: BACK ROW. Focus on pulling your elbows behind your back, and hold the contraction for a couple of seconds. This is a great compound exercise, and compound exercises will help you to burn more fat.
Exercise #7: ISOLATERAL CHEST FLY. Bring the handle across your chest to the other side. Make sure not to twist your hips, keep your torso facing straight, you are only moving your arm.
Now for the BIG TIP to get ripped. Your nutrition is key for getting ripped and getting in shape. Nutrition is the only thing that you have complete control of in your life. So if you want to get RIPPED, your NUTRITION is the key to achieving that.

Thank you for a look at how to use resistance bands. The way Mark demonstrates them is very convincing. There is one other exponent on KZbin but well Mark is much better. I doubt I will give up my myself but now I can see how I can do something about myself. Bluey Quilty Blue Mountains Australia

Good stuff mate. Just starting out at 53...not overweight but T2D and no meds due to the walking I do at work. My joints are always sore due to work life but you inspire me mate...thanks.

Thanks to you I’ve “finally” discovered these resistance bands. You’ve been a great help EVERY time I watch your videos…(I.e. focus on using your elbows)! Btw, I’m almost 69, weigh 330 ( was 340 before starting the beginner band workout). Another advantage of bands is moving from one setup or muscle group quickly. The main reason I quit working out in my pre-retirement days was due the the fact I didn’t have the time and energy to setup weights and bars for the next exercise. But I digress…Thanks Mark for inspiring us old guys, and should I do the deadlift or squat band exercises at the start or end of my routine? I do a full body 3 alternate days (Mwf) with 2 sets of 8-14 reps ( near failure).

Love your videos with resistance bands. I’m 67 and am doing a keto diet diet for weight loss so I decided to start working out to assist with weight loss. My question is can I do these exercises everyday with bands or do I need to alternate muscle groups every other day?

Hello Mark love your videos I am 52 soon be 53 recently was 288 now 251 since watching your videos my question is when I was younger I was kinda ambidextrous but went mostly right hand dominate now my right arm is bigger then my left I would still call myself a beginner with bands I have no dumbbells or room really for them or other free weights

Thank you for this. I have Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis) in one of my elbows which makes the lateral delta fly / side lateral raises quite painful, even with my elbow bent. Can I do them with my palms facing up to lessen the load? Or is there an alternative exercise for lateral deltoids?

Great videos.One thing i would suggest is putting a face cloth under where you put the door anchor.This will protect the door.

How many reps per exercise would you recommend starting out, I'm 68 with Parkinson's but have a BMI of 24, my doctor says I'm the healthiest sickest man he's ever seen. I want to get back to my Marine shape.

Generally the ideal amount would be 3 Sets per exercise - 10-12 reps per set

i kid you not Mark i just opened my head up when the plastic knuckle that you wedge behind the closed door , it broke free and hit my head at speed and im now sitting with a cloth soaking up the blood no pain no gain , i guess
