I don't think....I know.... I will ever be able to afford buying a boat and sailing around the world. But I have enjoyed listening to someone who has sailed around the world. I have always watched the boats at the marina and wondered who are these people. You seem like a nice couple who is enjoying life.

could you address the financial aspects of long-term cruising? Such as what maintenance costs, food costs, fuel costs, and general living and entertainment.

something to consider: While you guys are out sailing for longer periods, a bit of fresh vegetables could be a good addition to the diet. That's why, I think you should look into microgreens. Just do a KZbin search. Growing those in some trays on the boat is ridiculously easy. You could grow fresh stuff in the middle of the ocean in a matter of days.
