I once spent half a day staring at a Minnesota road map trying to locate Lake Wobegon. (With a magnifying glass!) Stupid me. (God will get you for that, Garrison!) Actually, Lake Wobegon has become "more real than real" to me, uncannily like my childhood days in a small Ontario, Canada town. (Which is on a map:) Thanks to Garrison and his superb supporting staff I have become addicted to APHC (even though I do not care for the usual typical popular but shallow comedy shows). Although APHC is rich with comedy, it is also very much more than that, with a philosophical depth. (I especially love the Sue Scott "Mom" skits.)

My grandmother used to say, "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if God don't want you, the devil must."

Watching the video, it's clear that Keillor decided to really just lean into the 'face for radio' thing. Wasn't there anybody on his staff or in his private life to tell him to get a haircut, mow his eyebrows, and wear clothes that have been ironed, instead of something from the bottom of the closet? How does someone get on stage - or go out in public - looking like a homeless person when he's not?
