This was great. I just happen to be reading one of his books of poetry at bedtime each night for the last two weeks.

Thank you for putting this reading on KZbin for me to find almost 8 years after it was recorded. Collins has the uncanny ability to write poems that seem effortless yet profound simultaneously. He gives people who say they hate poetry access to a catalog of great writing.

If there's anything trivial in your life, Billy Collins has lionized it in verse that looks, on the page, like poetry. We need all the whimsy and doggerel we can get, but until the poets return, we're doomed.

Funny, thought provoking, relatable. Don't need other KZbin videos explaining (or trying to) what his poetry means. He could actually give poetry a good name. Terrific.

I had a black cat called Miranda. She never ever climbed in my lap - she just appeared there on a regular basis.

There is nothing funnier than Billy the poet, except perhaps Billy the mustache and glasses-wearing Groucho.
