Yes. It is nice to score points. Fact of matter is we indians are way behind in productivity compared to China. It is nice to talk about quality vs quantity and score some points in social media. I request Mr. Mahindra to produce more without compromising quality but and without additional hours. For Example he must ask his workforce to produce atleast 10 % more without additional workhours. Bottomline is it is efficiency and not just quality. Quantity too has quality. That is if you produce more then the overhead is distributed

What do they mean by country here - those big corporates? If they mean the people of India, then they would give out more salary to the employees rather than pocketing a major chunk for themselves (not meaning the company, but the CEO themselves). What Mr Mahindra said is absolutely right. We have sadly inculcated the colonial slave mentality wherein output is measured in manhour of work instead of how innovative and creative we are in solving a challenge. This half-brained thinking is instilled in us by our obsolete education system that discourages questioning, lateral thinking, and letting imagination fly. Is it then any wonder we don't have a global innovative product to our name? Alas, we are trained and paid to be galley slaves to make the ship go faster, and not to find new ways to discover the wonders of the world.
