Mumbai Boat Accident: 13 Dead As Naval Speedboat Rams Ferry With Over 100 On Board | What Happened?

Mumbai boat accident: An Indian Navy speedboat that was undergoing engine trials lost control and collided with a passenger ferry off the coast of Mumbai. At least 13 people including a naval personnel and 2 people from the equipment manufacturer were killed in the accident. Visuals were captured on camera from the ferry, which was carrying 110 people. The navy craft was carrying 5 people and 10 passengers on the ferry were killed ... and the remaining 102 including the 2 survivors from the navy craft were rescued. Rescue operations are currently underway - and they're being carried out by the Mumbai police, Indian Navy and coast guard personnel. Here's all you need to know

How can engine malfunction cause sudden change in boat direction? Is the engine responsible for direction? I'm not understanding And then why the trial was going on in area where civilian boats were present?

Well there may be also a possibility where when the boat was in the same direction where the ferry was there then the boat may had been malfunctioned and the driver couldn't changed its direction afterwards

Our defense training system is mediaeval. I mean army lost it men while their tank sink in river. Air force lost it's men regularly in the Mig29s. And Navy also lost it's men helicopter crash, boat over speeding etc. If they can't even protect their men, how they give protection to others??
