These Mint people already know the reasons yet need comments to support their findings. So here it is- 1) Public sector on a whole in last 3-5 years has had only retirements and no job vacancies. This exposes govt.s claims of creating jobs. Mergers made things worse as explained in the video. Plus the onus of work lies on these reduced no. of employees with third class technological support courtesy relying on L1 bidding!!! N due to pressure of reducing operational cost by govt., companies cannot employ or benefit these employees in excess while work hours have eaten up even Saturdays and Sundays!! There have been instances where offices were asked to remain open even on 2nd October with NO EXTRA COMPENSATION or Compensatory Holiday!! No labour laws in this Country!! 2) Private sector/banks has additional pressure of reducing operational costs with very less salaries and the onus of bringing bancassurance, credit cards, deposits and what not with never ending work hours!! And over years it is a norm in private sector to switch to increase ur salary package.

You have very poor industry knowledge especially PSBs. Hence your report is misleading. You don't have simple knowledge that post NPS, PSB employees actually themselves finance their pensions with no fixed pension guarantee the lure of OPS has vanished. Secondly PSBs transfer their officers to semi urban & rural areas. This is not what Professionally qualified officer employees viz CA, MBA, Btech, MCA will accept. Since the private sector Banks offers much higher pay packages to specialist roles like Credit, forex, IT, Risk, legal & compliance.
