He removed regular dry brush clearing to save a rodent species 3. He decommissioned a dam that supplies water to South California, resulting to water supply having low pressure and rely on pumps. Those pumps were shut off during the fire. 4. Insurance companies removed their fire coverage in the state due to the neglect in forest brush clearing. This is an indication of a wildfire happening but Newsome ignored it. 5. Forced evacuation order that are too early. Newsome announced a forced evacuation, leading to most homes being empty. The residents could have put out any small fire on their own and prevent it from spreading. 6. Gavin Newsom cut fire budget by $100m last year.
