Na bro me too I have been trying to get a dog for at least 6 years now and I'm still unsuccessful. My parents say it is too expensive to own a dog because they have to take it to the vet. It makes me sad to know that it probably wont happen. I try to talk to them seriously and even said I will save my money to help pay for the dog but nothing works. I am 13 years old and I have watched at least 30 videos on how to convince my parents. I am not willing to accept the fact that I might have to wait until I'm 18 for a dog. My cousin convinced her parents to get a dog. She wrote 8 essays over why they should get a dog. I am a huge tomboy and I cant relate to people in my family. I think a dog would help with that and my parents still wont get one. My brother and my sister are bother allergic to dogs but my mom said that if we got one we would get a labradoodle. I'm so annoyed by this. I have worked my way up to stage 3 and have stayed there for at least 4 months now and there are no signs of us getting a dog.😪😪😪😪😪😪😪😪

am so happy because this video helped and with asking and begging to my parents so much, they finally gave in and agreed to get me a dog! I am getting a maltese x shih tzu puppy on January 9 and I am just SO excited!! My parents were not much of dog people earlier but by showing them photos and videos of dogs, I helped change their minds and now they find dogs, especially puppies really cute, friendly and loyal companions! We are all looking forward to the new dog and are starting to buy the supplies and prepare our house for his arrival. I am just so happy, I can't believe I actually convinced my parents!

BananaRoses, may I suggest something? Try Stage 3 behavior for a few weeks. Remember to be respectful, honest, mature, responsible, and take initiative for things that you see need to get done. Be authentic and consistent with it. After this time, go to your parents and tell them that you have tried really hard to be more mature and responsible lately. Ask if there is anything more you can do to earn a dog. You can also ask what their concerns are and try to address them: is money an issue? Training? Walking / feeding / cleaning up after it? Offer to help with what they want. If they still say no, accept it graciously, don't bring it up again, and continue with Stage 3 behavior. Trust me, there is a high chance they'll be impressed and remember what you are willing to do to earn a dog. Thanks for being at Live On Purpose TV.

I asked for a small lap dog on my birthday 7 months ago, and my dad said yes but then a few months later we didn't have the money to properly live and take care of one so i let it go. we were better financially over christmas and now we have the money so i'm trying again! I have wanted a dog since the first time I saw one. I have done all the research found a breed my parents like, one that doesn’t shed a lot. I did tons of research and even found a good reliable breeder and found the prices with food and toys and all of that. I have even split up tasks between my siblings. Hello, i don't think you remember me but, unfortunately i wont get a pet ever. Heres the reason: first of all we will travel to my country ( Iran, yes im iranian) until three months and stay there for two or more months so thats why we cant get a pet right now. Second we are not sure where we want to live ( country) and don't know if were going to stay in the house we have. Third my little brother could be allergic to any kind of animal, one time we got two baby bunnies and many month later we went for a doctor checkup, and the doctor said we have to get rid of the bunnies cause they can give my brother serious allergy. Fourth we will need a patio or yard for a cat or dog, we will need a space for a parrot, we don't have either ( don't worry were not poor, this house is temporary). I love love love animals and dont have any. plus: we got two betta fish ( one red veiltail baby, the other crown fish blue) and we only bought them for a traditional celebration. I dont know if wre ever going to get a pet.

My problem is kind of my mom. My dad wants a dog, my brother doesn’t really care (I don’t even know why his opinion matters, but apparently it does), but my mom doesn’t. My mom had 3 dogs when she was younger and they died which made her really upset.
