I had a liver transplant at 3 months old and they told my parents that even with a transplant I wouldn’t live past 6 years old I thank god I am 24 I have my days here and there but for the most part I take my medicine and go on with my day .... I’m glad everything has worked out for you

My husband just had a liver transplant, we are in the hospital recovering now. It's crazy. You never think something like this would ever happen to you. He was an emergency transplant and waited 2 days total, status 1a donor. But if our hospital did living donor transplants I would have donated gladly. She's very lucky this worked out in every way for her. God bless and good luck to new recipients and donors

its not that simple as saying youll donate your liver to him... you must be the same blood type and they must biopsy your liver before hand to see if your cells are healthy

@dubb There are exchange programs if your tissue type is not a match for your recipient.

I am a living donor liver transplant (LDLT) donor for my father and we had gone through surgery in September 2012. From 2012 to 2016, I was living very normal and also play outdoor sports (cricket) occasionally. In July 2016, I lift about 35Kg (suitcase) weight and move this from the ground floor to the third floor of the building with stairs. From that time, I feel uncomfortable or little pain in my abdomen (around the area of transplant surgery cut). If I walk about 20 minutes, stay in a sitting or standing position for more than one hour then again I feel pain or uncomforted in my abdomen. I am using an abdominal support belt since that time but the pain is not getting better from 2016. I consult many times with physical therapist/orthopedics, but they say it's nothing but only muscular strain. Does It happen with any liver donor/recipient? What did they find its solution? Any valuable suggestions? Thank you...

I'm no expert, so take this with a grain of salt, but that sounds like a possible hernia. You should see a doctor to confirm and if that is the case it's just a minor surgery to fix.

Yes; it is only part of the liver, not the entire organ. Both the donor and recipient regenerate the missing tissue.

hey we are talking about an emergency here. why would you not immediately ask the sick person's doctor, or any doctor, if sex matters? (btw sex is irrelevant). you don't go to youtube comments to save the life, you go to the relevant people managing the case in question.
