I mean, even as a Man Utd fan, that title has to go to Frank Lampard (177 goals from midfield, whilst still notching up 102 assists is insane) - yet I'm not saying he's "better" than Gerrard or Scholeseh...feel me? I used 0.25 slow motion to get an accurate measure of the shot speed. These measures are from a Liverpool fan All shot speeds:(Excluding penalties) 0-1 Own goal 29 MPH 0-2 goal 9 MPH 1-2 volley 53 MPH 2-2 half volley 58 MPH 2-3 goal 39 MPH 3-3 goal 83 MPH(!) The 3-3 goal was faster than all the West Ham goals combined!

After such matches, everyone should understand why it is not entirely correct to compare the team captain of the winner of this match with neither Lampard nor Scholes. Both of them were excellent players, but only a few won the most important matches almost alone. Captain Fantastic could do this and did it many times!
