Its their hate and bigotry that holds these loyalists together I use to see it when I visited Northern Ireland for work. Without their hate they are nothing. Worst of all they don't even know why most of them haven't a clue about their history. When I had to deal with any one from Catholic areas they were always very welcoming. But they thing that always struck me was a stress free and easy going the nationalists were as appose to the loyalist side. I used to get the ferry over when I worked for an adverting company.

A couple of "ladies" on the side of the road outside a pub shouted sectarian abuse at those in the band and then attacked one of the girls. it would have been better if a parade marshal or the doormen had sorted this instead of some members of the band having to react in defence, but lets not paint it in the disingenuous way that the original poster has described. People who behave don't get attacked at parades, this is a celebration of culture and the attack on the parade should be seen for what it is, a sectarian attack on a peaceful cultural carnival by bloodthirsty, anti-protestant republicans.
