Wow, see what you mean about it being dead last Wednesday. Quite sad, really. Though I wasn't out last Wednesday night to be fair.

Yeah there was really not much happening there.

Question for you: what steps can and do you take to stop your material being pirated and shown under another channle's name? I see it all the time - not your stuff - yet - but loads of footage from other legit channels being reposted.

Hey @pobkin12, thanks for such a great question - it's something that's definitely been on my mind since starting the channel. Before I launched Urban Nightscapes, I did a lot of research into other channels that make similar content, and like you, I came across loads of footage being reposted under different names. It’s frustrating to see someone’s hard work being used without permission. One of the options I seriously considered was adding watermarks to my videos to protect the content. However, during my research, I noticed that watermarked videos tend to receive mixed feedback from viewers. While I completely understand the need to protect content, many viewers seem to feel that watermarks can be intrusive and take away from the viewing experience. Personally, I think it’s a bit of a shame to go to all the effort of creating and editing footage, only to have to watermark it - especially when part of the magic is about immersing people in the scenes. That said, you're right - it’s probably inevitable that at some point my videos will get reposted. It hasn’t happened yet, but it’s something I’m keeping an eye on. The challenge is finding a balance between protecting your work and maintaining a clean, enjoyable visual experience for the audience. Have you ever come across any strategies you think might work well? I'd love to hear how you would tackle this issue!

@@UrbanNightscapes Well, is it not possible to put a logo in the top corner of the screen which identifies content as yours? Needn't be big or intrusive......just there. I try to call pirated content out when I see it in the channels' comments. Makes me so cross.

@@pobkin12 Yeah, it’s definitely easy enough to put a logo in the corner, and I actually already have a subscribe button in the bottom right-hand corner. I could switch that out for a slightly larger logo like you suggested, but to be honest, I don’t see much merit in it. If someone really wants to copy the content, they can just crop it out or, with the power of AI video editing these days, it can be removed entirely without too much effort. I’ve seen Dom r Tours' page too - his content is fantastic and often gets copied. He’s got a little logo in the corner, just like you're talking about, but with AI, it’s so easy to erase it now. That’s the tricky part: even with extra measures, tech is making it harder to fully protect content from being reposted. But I agree, it’s infuriating to see someone else’s hard work being reused without credit, and I really appreciate you calling out pirated content when you see it!

Thanks mate I really appreciate that comment but I think I have still got away to go before my videos are as good as Dom r. I have looked back at some of his earlier footage which is great but compared to his latest stuff you can see how he is getting better, not just at filming but the editing as well, he is really good. Hoping my content improves the more I learn! Thanks for your support mate!
