My grandfather worked on the dredgers back in the 1960’s. When we were kids, my mum and Aunt Edith would take us down to Otterspool Park and we could see Taid (Welsh for granddad) on the dredgers. He lived in Allerton, I lived in Speke and Garston. Great memories of much simpler times. Thanks for making these videos. I’m really enjoying them.

I can tell you love your city, Kev, & love talking about it, despite it's flaws, which everywhere has, but let me tell you this, Kev, you are a huge asset to the city. Your words are immaculate & enlighten the history you are telling & you can feel the emotion as you speak. It comes across in droves & that's from the passion you feel. You should feel very proud of the work you have done on this channel.

Brilliant video Kev! Really interesting! I love this kind of vlog. Loved seeing the old map of Liverpool showing the castle. I read somewhere recently that its ruins have been found around the rivington pike area somewhere? Thanks for a great vlog today 😍xxx

The black part of the walkway that snakes through chavass park, Liverpool 1 and up church St represents the inlet to the small river that runs underneath to the museum.

Very interesting video. Thank You. When I did my A level photography course I had to do an essay to accompany photos. I called it a tale of 2 cities... Liverpool and Manchester and the rivalry that started way back during the industrial revolution. My Son had a flat in Manchester at the time...I had taken photos there and as a Liverpool fan I had spent time in Liverpool so it's why I came up with the idea for my subject. I would like to see you do a video on this subject... just an idea 💡 Keep up the good work 👍

Great update Kev been doing Liverpool history myself for nearly 10 years now love it. So much of it. I’ve been down the old dock on the tours that the maritime museum normally do it’s currently closed having big refurbishment till 2028 so not sure where there doing them from at the moment. Look forward to more soon. Of course Liverpool got its charter from King John in 1207. Also just letting you know I’ve looked it up the gate to the old dock wasn’t where Albert dock is today the original gate entrance to the old dock was to the left of the gates before salt house dock which is a main entrance point to Albert dock so it was close but too far down just letting you know. It was closer to strand street the road. Hope that helps.

Ah right ok Mark, that’s brilliant info. I wasn’t too sure going off that old map. I just thought it would be closer to the Mersey

Well , you excell here with this History content, definitely your forte'. Amazing isn't it the distance from that old dock wall behind John Lewis's would that be where the rivers muddy banks came up to.(Excuse my cluelessness). It's been years since i've been down Albert dock prom but couldn't help but see the muddy sand bank seems to have spread out & gotten bigger. Like you 3rd generation Irish on my maternal side like many of us Liverpudlians. Fantastic content and delivered it well kev. 👏 Have you heard of the passenger ship the EMPRESS OF IRELAND thats a ship you need to investigate. Many Liverpool crew sailed on it. It's very famous in Canada but not here for some unknown reason. I won't go into it all don't want to rain on your parade, but go & investigate this. Caused great sadness to many families including my own. I have loved every minute of this video kev & i am always offering suggestions for you like Robert Tresell & now the Empress of Ireland. This is you at your best & i hope your mum is getting well 🙏.

Very very good i really enjoyed the content. I like you all my relatives came from the bog, as they called it. The Irish were a lot better fed than the English and could work longer and harder and built a great great city. That,s why the Irish built the tunnel with pick and shovel. Keep it up.
