I can tell you that clubs can play tricks with the figures to make it look like there's a loss, but it's only an accounting or tax loss, due to depreciation (for example, the cost of building the new stand last year) or other expenses. Proof - is there a shortage of wealthy types who line up to buy a team when one is announced for sale? NO! Look, you know what FSG paid for the team and you've spoken about what it's worth today. Does today's valuation make sense if FSG were actually losing money? Of course not. That's because they're not running at a loss. As said earlier, it's a tax loss, not an actual loss. If they were suffering actual losses, THEY'D HAVE SOLD THE TEAM!

For any of you thinking FSG are honestly taking money out of the club through wages please come back to reality. IF they took money through wages you would have to pay personal income tax of about 65%. It makes literally 0 sense for them to take money out that way when they could do it through holding companies and avoid tax. The wages are likely increased partly to due to inflation and also Deloitte is not 100% fact. Ernst and Young signed off Liverpool accounts. Deloitte do not have access to the information that EY have and the author of the article certainly doesnt have access to it either. FGS take nothing from the club Total compensation of key management personnel across the Group (including the directors) in the year amounted to £9.7 million 2023 (2022: £12.3 million). There are circa 7 directors.

It's staggering. Really it is. At this point LFC should be self financing major signings. Never mind FSG dipping into their own pockets, which they should be, but we should be able to go out and buy from the top table of players. This year has confirmed two things I’ve been thinking for years - 1. Pep is FAR from the best manager in the world and 2. Liverpool is NOT the well run club that is claimed. FSG is either just taking all the money for themselves or are incredibly inept. Either way, to hell with them

FSG knows business , and not sports. They tend to not understand they are owning a sports team. Not a Wallstreet Mega company that is only driven by money and not players and fans and in the big picture , trophies. I do not like Florentino Perez. He is the reason football is what it is, with rich people playing real life Premier Manager. But he knows that better team and more trophies equals more income. WIN WIN for him, players and fans. They buy players, have large wages and yet they are top earners in football , cause they win things and gets more sponsor money, prizemoney, ticket and tv revenue, and more fans wich equals more money. FSG should look at what he does. Cause they only know money, they do not know sports.

As a big club in the premier league and champions league we don't invest in players or spend like any other club does it's all down to the owners missed out on so many big signings by being stingy before we know it we're gonna drop off and it's going to be impossible to compete again without having the right investments put back into the club 😤😤

Before everyone starts crying fsg out. You need to remember what they have done for us. Going into Administration to the best team in Europe and rebuilding the stadium. Yes I would love more signings and the contract situation sorted but fsg have done a lot for us and got most decisions right.

Could it not just be the bill of the construction workers/contractors that have been doing the redevelopment work? If you were to look at the number of actual employees and compare it to arsenal for example, Liverpool are employing roughly 300 more staff. I can't think of any other reason for such a large difference in employee count

I hear always that new positions are opened in the couching team and administration. These are redundant costs that sap profit. Don't forget Salah is earning about 1 million/week, while great players like Diaz get palpable 50,000/week, yet people unashamedly say give Mo what he wants. In my opinion the wage structure of players need to be properly revised and the administrative costs (administrative and couching personnel) need to be slashed to the basic minimum.

Uhm, yes we did. We didn't play in the Champion's League that season which is why revenues may have been down from the prior year.

I actually don't think that Edwards and Huges are working for Lfc. They are just being paid by LFC. And I suspect there are many other employees as well who are getting paid by the football club, but are actually doing work for the other art of FSG.
