Finally someone uploaded a clip of this. Why were both teams playing in their away kit?

I think in those times the home team were made to play in away kit, which obviously clashed with Valencia(white). That's why Valencia were also in away kit. Very stupid Uefa rule. As easy as making Valencia play in white and Reds in red.

One article says, "During the 1998/99 season UEFA's kit policy dictated that any clash in first choice kits led to the home team changing shirts." I've added this to the Talk section of Wikipedia's "away colors" article. Hopefully they'll find a way to document it.

Same reason I believe that Man Utd had to play in white at home to Barcelona.
