Thanks, Nick. The thing that irks me about planners and political custodians is that they never seem to have the inspirational and transformational vision. Everything that they seek to preserve/conserve now, were once absolutely out-of-the-box transformational when they were built and I can bet the authorities in those days were thinking more about the future and making a statement than they were about preserving anything. Liverpool Waters could have been used to transform Liverpool's image and they could have built a whole lot of buildings and parks, that even immediately, or in 100 years' time, would be something that other generations would see as amazing, historical places to visit. Look how Singapore transformed itself. That IS one advantage for having a visionary, unchallenged leadership. You can bet that in Victorian times power rested only with a few and they got things done. Instead, today, we have 100's of committees and vested interest parties, who ultimately only produce scaled down, mish-mashes of uniform nothingness. At least BMD will be totemic.

All belongs to Peel Holdings ,Committees or anything to do with their plans will be pushed to one side ,high rise concrete blocks will just be a blot on the waterfront

That’s some drone you got there, the camera quality is unbelievable. The only thing that spoils that Liverpool waterfront is that square box on top of the tower block, it’s a right eyesore. Do you have to have line of sight when flying your drone, just trying to figure out where you were stood?

The steel building is a going to be a residential block called Aquitania. They will also be building Mauritania at a later date in the same area. There will be shops, cafes and restraunts.

What is the building under construction on the approach to the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal? Is this part of the terminal, or something separate?

What's that being constructed just north of the IOM terminal? Looks too narrow to be a car park.

West Waterloo Place development. Apartments rising to 9 storeys. I think there’s two blocks planned. It was supposed to be two 14 storey blocks but as usual people objected and it was reduced in height. The original looked brilliant but still looks a very good development. Very frustrating as Liverpool has seen so many good developments sacaled down.

The river front developments will make the water front part of the city look like an American city - tower blocks. At least you can see the three graces unastructed by new builds.

It's one of those enormously ambitious schemes that requires investors and developers to keep the money flowing. It's not really surprising to find it stumbling along when inter/national financial confidence is so up and down. Does it have a lead personality or organisation to inspire and motivate, or does it rely on the various parties involved agreeing to take the leap at the same time? I reckon this one will be keeping you up in the air for a few years yet, Nick. It could look great but Singapore it ain't. Not even Teeside 😉

I really think Liverpool should abolish its Tall Buildings Policy. It has put many developers off and pushed a lot of investment towards Salford and Manchester. Most people would agree that Liverpool has many sensitive areas regarding heritage but it shouldn’t be a stranglehold on the whole city. I think Central Docks is perfect for talls as well as Knowledge Quarter, Leeds Street and some areas in the southern parts of the city centre. Is it really asking too much to see half a dozen or so talls ranging from around 40 to 50 storeys on Central Docks? There are some negativity towards tall buildings but it’s not right or fair that people in power always side with the negative people. Time to see some proper vision and ambition. The anti tall brigade have got their way for too long. Rant over.😊

What exactly happened with all the UNESCO issues? I thought Liverpool waters was indefinitely halted because of something that they couldn't agree on.
