Join Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi​ as he concludes the life and times of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq with the death of Abu Bakr and the appointment of 'Umar b. al-Khattab as his successor!
When the Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) departed this earth the Ummah was in great turmoil and distress, at that time one man arose to be the representative of Allah and His Messenger on earth as the first rightly guided Khalifah of the entire Muslim Ummah.
His title was al-Siddiq (The Upright, The Truthful), his mention is made by Allah in the Qur'an as "the second of the two" and his legacy is unmatched by any human other than the Prophets of Allah.
After two years of serving the Ummah and keeping the Muslims united, the first Khalifah of the Muslims Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) returned to his Lord. He was buried next to the Messenger of Allah just as he lived alongside him.
...and so began the selection and appointment of the successor of Abu Bakr to be the next rightly guided Khalifah of the Muslims.

The end made me cry, indeed the Khalifa of the Prophet was a man of Jannah as predicted by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Surely the words of Allah are true and the words of his Prophet (pbuh).

Why did the son of Zaid not lead the army heading to the Romans? The prophet had assigned him to lead the army although he was a young man.
