I don’t care who uses it. I recently had a tournament where the conditions were rough and the majority of the field agreed. The top guys admitted to catching the necessary fish to win with scope. In tournaments like this one I was in, I don’t feel like I got beat by a more skilled angler. I actually caught more than guys with livescope. But the technology is superior next to the man who doesn’t have it. But the skill of the angler doesn’t need to be skilled with intuition but with technology. That to say I ain’t mad if you use it but I’ll look at you differently than the guy who slays without it.

Yeah I get the argument from a professional standpoint. Maybe they should limit the number of screens or transducers? Idk. But I think thats for the Pros to decide because it's not our money they're fishing for or sponsorships they're trying to get.... It just doesn't effect your average angler. Now the FFS targeted baits and now rods is absolutely rediculous. I literally rolled my eyes when I saw a Cashion FFS rod.

Imagine being a sprinter in the Olympics, spending every day eating clean, living at the gym and the tracks to conditioning your body, running the same distance over and over again to beat your last score. Then finally the big day comes, the gun fires and your ass is left in the dust of another sprinter who didn't train as hard but was juiced up on roids. Now all of a sudden, the work you put in doesn't really matter anymore, you can't have a competitive edge unless you're juicing like the top guys. So now you're stuck with a decision. Do I continue sprinting the way the sport was intended and place in the bottom of the rankings or do I give up on playing the sport the way I was passionate about, take a short cut and jump on the doping bandwagon so I have a competitive edge and stand a chance at placing on top? This is how view FFS.

My thoughts exactly. If you don't like FFS, then don't freaking buy one. All these cats disparaging others for using technology that is available need to go out and get a life. If I'm catching and releasing, then what business is it of yours how I caught the fish? That same line of thinking could be applied to all devices used in angling... It's unfair to use braid or fluorocarbon line, because it gives you an advantage over those who use mono. Or It's unfair for you to use a carbon fiber rod when everyone else is using cane poles. Or It's unfair to use a boat on the lake when everyone else is bank fishing. JR, you and I are on the same page, as far as the purist's virtue signaling against FFS. If someone doesn't like how I fish, then don't watch. With their line of thinking, we'd all be out there with carved bone hooks tied to the end of a branch. Techniques change, technology changes, and knowledge increases. Either adapt to it or step aside. Just because you wish to remain a luddite doesn't mean that we should all remain one.

The pros bitching about live scope are simply crying to cry. They don’t gotta pay for it. Live scope is a tool, you still gotta make the fish bite. Go watch one of Milliken’s 2 hour live fishing videos watch how much time he spends throwing baits at fish. He knows they’re there can see them but can’t make them bite. It’s a tool like the rod and reel. Quit crying. If you can’t afford it, work more, if you don’t want to use it, don’t but stop crying and bitching about the guys that use it. You have the same right they do to use it. There’s my 2 cents for what it’s worth! Excellent video JR as always

Idc if a everyday guy like you catch fish using a livescope and you rrspond plus have other angles in the video. We dont just see a butt 90% of the time lol. The problem is 50k of electronics, 4 and 5 big screens front of boat 3 to 4 on the console 4 to 5 transducers on the ftont, two on the back and even some on the sides in some cases. That makes tournament fishing a rich mans game which takes tons of great fisherman out of chances to make it into the big leagues. You just showed you can do it with a simple setup and dont need all that extra on a boat to catch fish which is competitive. There 💯 should be limitations on how much each angler should have on a boat in tournaments especially at the pro level where they should also have actual skills to catch fish without a livescope.

Remember that even with all that fancy fishing finding equipment, it doesn't make the fish bite. You could sit there all day on a school of bass and not catch a single fish. Yes, you can find fish faster with this and you can be more focused, but it doesn't increase your odds since fish are fickle creatures. I've never used these fancy finders because part of the fun of fishing is using some intuition and knowledge/skill to figure out where fish might be. Checking the lake bed for cover, weeds, rocky alcoves, reeds, accounting for water clarity, etc. It's all a guessing game, but that's what makes it fun imo. These real-time transducers take the guess-work out of finding them and I can totally see the appeal. I understand why some fishermen will use them, but I'll stick with the "primitive" way to fish because when I'm out on the water, I've got all day to wait.

@@P.W.R. it increases the odds greatly when you can see how the fish react to various baits. Then you can simply find something that they will react to or feed on much easier.

@@P.W.R. I don't use electronics myself as I fish for fun and the challenge of fishing lol. I wouldn't have 50k of electronics on 100k boat either even if I was rich lol. I'd have a simple setup that gets me out there to do what i love and find challenging. I actually prefer no electronics and a jon boat lol. I may put something simple on for depth and water temps though. Or get a hand held that I can read depth and temps with then put it away.

​​​@@blind_eye_fishing Now that I think about it, you probably could increase your chances of catching a fish with these transducers, but I'll be damned if I haven't totally skunked out on fish beds and gone through every bait in my tackle with no interest. That's why I originally said it doesn't increase your chances because I've fished underwater structure and spawn beds for hours with no takers. Maybe I just suck or maybe I'm a fish repellent. Lol

​@@P.W.R. bes fishing is a talent and different skill lol. It takes patience, dead stick skills, just finding what pisses off the bass the most, good eyes and fast reflexes. Sometimes they'll move that bait fast and you won't even realize they did lol. Lizards, creatures and craws usually are best but sometimes worms and small swimbaits will work. I watched a guy kill it with a megabass dark sleeper gill. He'd swim it to the bed and then just drop it in the middle of the bed to sit there for awhile. Lizards have always been my top bait on beds and sometimes a brush hawg style bait.
