I had the same problem with the two (2) LVS32's on my two boats. They were both out of warranty. I called Garmin and both (at different times) were replaced free of charge with the single round cable model. Garmin recognized a defect in the original cable design and stood behind their product regardless of how old it was.

I tried to get a replacement but they indicated it was 4-5 years old. Sometimes the products sit on the shelves too long before the consumer makes the purchase. Somehow I misplaced the receipt and could not provide proof of purchase. I hope it (the receipt) will turn up sooner or later. Thanks for the comment!

Be sure to bring an umbrella for the heat! The fish have been deeper than I have ever seen them. I hope to release a video this weekend. You will notice they are in 15 to 20ft. fow. They are also very flighty and will take off for no reason at all. One minute you might have over a 100 on a pile, turnaround to do something and turn back around and see an empty bush. I love when they go open water though so I can get my chase on. Hope this helps and good luck!

I’ve got a brand new lvs34 and mine started doing this. I think it’s the black box. I traded my black box with a friend to test and it didn’t do it again. To me, garmin should cover this for it being out of warranty but whatever.

Now you got me thinking. I replaced both so I assumed it was the black box. I need to upgrade my bass boat with the lvs34 also because once you get used to seeing the lsv34 in action it makes it harder to read the lvs32. I expected more from Garmin than I received. I can't say I am happy about having to replace a defective product at my cost. Thanks for the feedback and for watching!

Had the same problem with my double cable lvs32, It would not calibrate and the bottom readings were very sporadic and completely out of wack. Called garmin and they needed the serial # off it. They said it was defective and to send it to them. When they received it they sent me a new single cable lvs32,, problem solved!!! Hope this helps someone else with these issues.

When I was trouble shooting I could not find anything indicating it could be the transducer. I hope this will help others to be able to identify the problem. Thanks for your feedback and for watching!

Not saying it was your problem but the more filters you use on the unit the more lag, if you get lag in the future try turning ghost tree, noise reject and TVG off just to see if it helps with the lag.

You are correct. It definitely played a part in the unit overheating faster. Sometimes I could turn those settings down and buy some time before it overheated but the negative is that the screen image did not look as clear as I wanted. Once I upgraded both boats to the LVS34 the problems went away all together. My LVS32's were the old style with the dual cable. Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
