She needs to learn the art of interviewing WITHOUT interruption, the ability to coax information from the subject without fracturing the flow. I already knew most of the basic information, but the little details from Sharath are most interesting -- and this is where she opens her mouth far too often. I was told by my grandfather: "One can never learn something new with your mouth open."

Jeez! what a lost opportunity. Sharathji tries to demystify the origins of a subtle, sophisticated tradition perfected over millenia..she indulges herself smugly 😭 The lady is behaving like a bogan at a Barbi with verbal diarrhoea. Conversationus interruptus all the way. Pity. Nathamuni, Guru Brahmachari, Krishnamacharyaji, Guru Pattabhi jois ji and Sharathji. koti koti pranam 🙏🙏🙏

Annoying actually! What’s the point of her interviewing Sharat if she APPARENTLY knew everything already?

Glad you shared this interview but please never again interrupt when wisdom is getting shared...and get involved with the speaker then you can pronounce the names .. it’s never blah blah ...

Wow! I wish Sharath would not speak at all so I could listen to the interviewer. She literally finished all his sentences.

If we read Desikachar's book, he says Ramamohana Brahmachari lived near Mount Kailash in the caves there. Surprising to see so much of variation in these details

it is not variation, Sharath is not identifying the place beyond referring to it in the Himalayas. They are both correct.

This interview is very interesting. I learned a lot again about yoga. I would like to clarify one point. Astanga Yoga is the basis of Yinyasa krama. If Anstanga Yoga means the Yoga Sutras of Paranjali then yes. Otherwise it is more the Yoga Korunta and the knowledge of Krishnamacharya.

Krishnamachariya: At first I thought the story couldn't be true. The tree line is at 2100 meters in the north, but at the equator it can also be at 4400 meters or 14435 feet. It was probably in Tibet at Lake Manasavora at 4580 meters, today on the Chinese side? These 7.5 years between 1915 and 1922. At the end of 1922 he went back to Mysore.
