@@Seethi_C See code of canon law, canon 436 (applies to Latin/western churches.) Notice Archbishop Anselm of Canterbury (1093-1109). I'm pretty sure that V2 came after 1109? The title has been used since the 6th century. Unsure where your claim "that I don't recognize N O episcopal consecrations" comes from? One can recognize something, without being in full agreement with what is recognized. I (typically) address people however they're introduced to me! The title Monsignor encompasses/covers bishop, archbishop, as well as other ecclesiastical titles, but not thinking it's going to replace the others.

Every organization makes its own rules. Under the rules of the Holy Catholic Church Father Vigano IS excommunicated. And since it was Latae Sententia the excommunication was effective by his own actions by denying the Holy Father as the leader of the church. The July 4 document was simply official notice that Father Vigano is excommunicated and no longer holds any church office. He is still a priest by virtue of his holy orders but he can’t function as one in any institution that wants to be in communion with Rome. An institution that allows him to function is in schism with Rome. By the nature of the Latae Sententia anyone who holds the same views as Vigano similarly excommunicates themselves just as Vigano excommunicated himself. It is my belief that The good thing for all these schismatics is that by confessing their sin and changing their position they can lift their own excommunication.

Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was a Roman Catholic Hero and he tried to talk to the Pope but after the Pope went to Assisi with the false religions was so bad that he knew he couldn't communicate with Rome until a Holy Pope came along. Sadly, it's worse with Bergoglio. "The remission of the excommunication of the four Bishops consecrated in 1988 by Archbishop Lefebvre" was done by Pope Benedict XVI and I do miss him for bringing back the Latin Mass.

There are rumors that Abp. Vigano was re-consecrated in Dec '23 by Bp Williamson. If true, maybe that will be his next major announcement.

Wait. But ARCHBISHOP LEFEBVRE also called this all out and was also excommunicated. Vigano is courageous and fulfilled his obligation but so did St Marcelle LEFEBVRE

Didn't you listen to the explanation Bishop Sanborn gave regarding this? AB Lefebvre was excommunicated for a violation of an article of the 1983 Canon law; whereas AB Vigano was excommunicated for not accepting Francis as pope & rejecting Vatican II Council.

@dariusclovis1374 But then are you giving authority to the 1983 cannon a spawn of Vatican 2? If you are then you indirectly give credit to V2. Saint ABP Lefebvre surely didn't. His actions proved it. Plus he was the one who single handedly saved Holy Mother Church's Tradition and Sacred Liturgy.

@@MacheteMambi - no; the point is Lefebvre’s “excommunication” was, strictly-speaking, on procedural grounds whereas Viganò’s “excommunication” was on substantive grounds. We’re not giving credence to the 1983 (so-called) code or to those who rendered these “sentences.” The Bishop here was merely highlighting the differing approaches between these two men and why the outcomes, while on the surface look the same, will be different.

@tommastroianni641 Do you think St Lefebvre's excommunication was strictly for a procedural violation? St Lefebvre represented the RESISTANCE against the modernists and the changes of Vatican 2. He was La Resistance. He represented the Old Church The Catholic Church. The Old Apostolic Liturgy. The consecrations was simply the event that burst the bubble of years of conflictive relations between St Lefebvre and V2 leadership. In fact days after the consecrations JP2 made comments and qualified the act as SCHISMATIC. So therefore the underlying accusation against St Lefebvre was that he was SCHISMATIC and not submissive to The Roman Pontiff. Same as ABP VIGANO. 🙏 I sense a little hostility by the Good Bishop against St Lefebvre. Not sure why? Or maybe I do but we will leave it there. TRADS must stick together. Now is not the time for underhanded or veiled shots at the SSPX or St Lefebvre.

Being 'excommunicated' by a false church is an honour that signifies that Archbishop Vigano has nothing to do with a false religion and not an excommunication at all. Well done Archbishop Vigano, you remained in the true Roman Catholic Church. 🇲🇹 Laudetur Jesus Christus 🙏
