So helpful! I have been struggling to have my audio from Ecamm go into Zooom along with my virtual cam. Loopback was indeed the solution but your instructions are what got through my thick skull to make it actually work. Thank you!

Kirk Nugent Aaargh, I just did my weekly talent show on StreamYard and couldn’t hear my guests till I turned off Loopback. I could hear my own voice and the music I played in the Finder window, but not the guests. Any idea what I did wrong? (Using Scarlett external mic with Focusrite interface)

@tanjareen I'm sooooooo sorry if you fast forward to 17:31 in the video. Options under Finder is expanded. The option 'Mute when capturing' is unchecked. I think that's your issue. Uncheck that on whatever source your guests are speaking through. If that doesn't do it, check in StreamYard to see what your Speaker is set to

Thanks for your comment and support of the channel! Can I ask why you're using both Zoom and StreaamYard at the same time? That presents many audio conflicts.

Cool you answered!…LOL. So here is the situation, church is online still and use zoom as it’s main platform. I’m able to stream only to one location at a time on zoom. So I was trying to use Streamyard to push out to Facebook and KZbin while share screening zoom through Streamyard. Hopefully that makes since.

@@terencebrown6799 Thank you for providing some context, I understand what you're doing and why you're doing it but this method will cause some issues. Do you have guests in StreamYard? Also are you using Loopback to route sound? For my church we use ECamm to produce the service and use the Virtual Camera in Zoom and StreamYard for video and Loopback for audio.

I just downloaded loopback. Trying to learn how to use it. That’s why I’ve been watching your video. We do everything in zoom. Was able to share the video in Streamyard but it had no sound and didn’t have an option to share sound. So I thought I could use loopback to push the sound to Streamyard from zoom.

Hello. At our church we generally use Zoom when having a speaker from oversees. But now I'm using stream yard. How do I get the people in the venue to hear the guest speaker and also the venue Mc to communicate with guest without getting feedback.

Thanks for your comment but this is a tough question to answer without knowing your setup and equipment. The short answer is to ensure the guest speaker is wearing headphones and mute the MC/Host mic in StreamYard when the Guest is speaking. You would need to plug the machine StreamYard is running into your venue sound

Hi Kirk! Thanks for this tutorial! Great! I need to use Whatsapp + Loopback + streamyard, because one guest want use only cell phone. Is there a way to return audio into whatsapp?

Are you using the web app version of Whatsapp? If so you can create another virtual mic in Loopback that you can include chrome (which is StreamYard) and you're mic then select that as your mic in WhatsApp so that the person there hears everything. Hope this does it for you, I have a video where I talk about two way audio from Zoom to ECamm it's the same principle.

@@kirkrnugent Thank you very much! No, I don't use Web app version of Whatsapp, but Desktop version. Because I need to make a phone call to the guest and send it live. No phone calls in the web app version of whatsapp. In the desktop version of whatsapp I can't set the audio devices, neither as input nor as output. So I don't know how to send the audio of the guests in streamyard to whatsapp, because they have to talk to each other, with questions and answers.

I don't really see the need for loopback with Zoom, it can already, on its own, share computer audio from QuickTime & Chrome and VLC and Finder. Adding Ecam studio one can add a lower third but it seems to add a lot of complication for very little benefit. Am I missing something? :) Thanks.

Thanks so much for your comment, everyone's workflow is different so maybe loopback and ecamm aren't for you. My favorite feature of Ecamm is the Virtual Camera which allows me to play videos and do presentations in Zoom or StreamYard or Teams. The main reason I use loopback is to partner with ecamm so I can have my audio on those platforms as well. Hope that makes sense, Im sure I have some videos that further explain that if you are interested. Again thanks for your comment and for supporting the channel.

Kirk, great stuff my man. Question, what about bringing in an interview and their audio via Ecamm and streaming through Streamyard. How do I make sure their levels using Loopback aren't lost or lower than they should be? I might have missed it if you said how to do that.

Hey Kirk- I'm trying to follow this setup but am having problems controlling my USB mic. I've got a 2 camera setup (running straight in to the computer), usb mic, and lots of videos to play for an event tomorrow. I'm building just about everything in Ecamm and then pushing to Streamyard for distribution. When I add my mic to Loopback, I'm unable to control it through ecamm (really, to turn it off when playing videos), this makes sense as I'm splitting the signal in to ecamm and loopback and loudest is taking precedence. If I dont include my mic in Loopback, I get no audio from it even though I can see it in Ecamm. Is it possible to control the mic through Ecamm? Getting the video started and turning off the live mic at the same time is very important with this event but difficult if I need to control it through 2 different programs.

I'm sharing this from memory so I apologize if I'm not advising you correctly... If I'm understanding you correctly what I'd suggest is In ECamm select the Virtual Mic you created not the USB Mic directly. In Loopback make sure the checkbox (mute when capturing) under your USB Mic is unchecked. That should allow you to use the mic in both ECamm and in StreamYard and control it in Loopback for both.

@@kirkrnugent I didnt have any luck with this. The one thing that made the mic work directly through Ecamm was turning on Audio Monitor in Output. However that then created an echo during my playback videos (while using headphones). I think at this point I may need to just deal with having to do 2 clicks when coming in and out of playback videos - 1 to start the new scene and the other to turn on the mic through Loopback.

I wish you would do a very simply tutorial with Loopback and Streamyard with just a mic and one audio source (i.e. iTunes). For older people with no real tech knowledge, this is kind of complicated. But thank you anyway for sharing.

@@kirkrnugent Thanks. No. You did a great job on the video. I experienced a lot of echo when I listened to the recording of a Streamyard guest. I wondered if it had something to do with the fact that the "mic" from Streamyard was conflicting with Google Chrome in any way. It may be the fact that the guest in Streamyard was using a cell phone without headphones.

@@stephenwicksvideo Yea Mobile is difficult with Streaming Video so many factors out of your control. You're right now headphones could've causes the issue as well. StreamYard is built in Chrome so they aren't separate if Chrome sees a mic or camera well StreamYard will too but the opposite is also true.

In StreamYard, Turn off Echo Cancellation and Turn on Stereo BUT make sure your wearing headphones
