An underappreciated use of the XR series is its usefulness as a processor on an analog system, whether for FX or LR processing. I use the XR12 as a processor when I need to use a larger analog board and digital isn't available

Im planning to output my stream on Aux 4 (mono) on my XR16, how can i insert the combinator and Prec. Limiter at the same time or run it well? Btw, amazing vid! Really appreciate it.

I don’t think you can insert both directly. There are some funky routing tricks that may work if you aren’t using all of your busses and/or channels. The easiest option is, if you happen to be using OBS to broadcast with, run the Combinator on the XR16 and use the limiter in OBS. I actually really like the Vintage Reverb. Leave the settings alone except the decay time. Depending on what works best with your room, you’ll end up with a setting between 1-3 seconds. See what works best for you :) Also, I often EQ the output and use a low cut to remove around 200 and lower, and a high cut to remove 5k and higher. Hope that helps :) -Chad

Thank you for this video! Could you tell, please, if it is possible to process the sound in a DAW as well as in XR18 during the live service? So, like use a DAW as an additional console.

Not sure about necessarily using a DAW as another console. I’d need more information as to your goals. But yes, with a powerful enough computer, you can use a DAW in real time. You would change each channel’s source to USB. Basically, the XR18 sets the gain, passes the audio to the DAW like an insert, then the DAW passes the audio back to the XR18 and follows the rest of the XR18’s channel strip. The trick is that your computer has to be powerful enough to handle as many as 18 channels in real time with super low latency and no pops and clicks. Can Combinatior be applied to a bus? I have my livestream mix on bus #9 sending the audio via USB to OBS, but I’m not sure on how to apply the Combinator to it.

Yes. Select your bus, click the Home button, move to the config tab, select your combinator insert slot and engage the insert. If you’re using a pair of busses for stereo, be sure to do the same for the right side :)

To be honest, they best way is to make mix right 90% and then use those gimmicks to finalize it. I always use stereo combinatator when mixing, but I do try to make live mix sound polished before using it.

I have a problem in my transmissions with the xr18, the audio signal that it sends to obs studio is very low, consequently the volume of my live is heard slowly, I have increased the gain and the volumes, the strangest thing is that it is saturate with volume slowly

@@jeremypedrodiazespiniza9055 I don’t suggest using any of the filters in OBS unless you’ve used up all of your FX slots on your mixer. If you’re connected via USB, make sure you have you tap point set correctly for USB SENDS 1/2 so that your Precision Limiter is being included in what’s being sent to OBS. As I mention in the video, make sure that the output level of your Precision Limiter is set to -1 or -0.5 for a maximized output.
