Beautiful beyond words.. First bought the album in 1973. A great tune to meditate with feeling deep inside oneself. Have always loved this tune so much. My very favorite. Thanks Chick Corea.

Wow, this is great footage of a master at work on one of his own compositions. I’ll have to go back and listen to the original recording now.

This reminds me of seagull's jacket. The tune on the album was really clear like pure crystal.

I understood that song's harmonization much better when watching you take it apart like this, unpacking and parsing the individual progressions.

Loved it, Chick. I think l remember reading somewhere that you wrote this while looking out the window of a plane you were flying in and the expanse inspired you . . . All in a ten minute span of time . . . Don't you hate it when that happens? 😏

This was a sleeper song for me in that i never heard it before last year and I've listened to Chick Corea for decades and seen him live at Newport, R.I.

Have you missed something?! Look up the Crystal Silence album and buy it - don't pre-listen, just buy it. Spend a day with it. And then parts of the following week too. I flew to Paris to see Chick and Burton at Jazz a Villette on Gary Burton's pre-retirement tour. Nothing in anyone else's repertoire - nor even their own - quite like it

@@jm4dhs it happens to the best of us. Glad I did discover it. Better late than never. Is Mr. Burton still with us? I am so glad Mr. Corea is still well and creating!

@@indriadrayton1132 Yes, Gary Burton is still alive and, I hope, well. 18 months younger than Chick. Take a look at this NPR Tiny Desk video from 4 years ago - still perfect together kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2aseYGPppumqtk

Some new content here too, in terms of harmonic and timing twists. Didn't think this would work on something that meditative but it's a win.

Ora che e' morto anche questo gigante che ha dipinto il mondo di gloria e bellezza stupefacente, colui che ha cliccato non mi piace, può' andarsene all'inferno. Chick, e' stato un profeta vissuto in un pianeta strano.
