I'm actually going to be buying this toy myself and found yer video. According to the information on amazon there is a slower mode for the laser toy, and the white part under it, is actually a motion sensor. From what I understand it has a couple of speeds, plus can be mounted to a window via a suction cup and such as well. Plus darkening the room a little (less lightning) should help with their attention.
