Try to not tighten your drag right up and grab the spool. The drag is there to work with the action of your rod to absorb headshakes and put less stress on your terminals. As soon as you stop that spool it puts so much pressure on everything which means pulled hooks and bust off's. I hate seeing you lose fish 😢

i would say be a little more patient with the lure fishing on the sand flats. the flattys and whiting are always there and waiting to strike just let the lure hit the bottom and sit for 10 seconds before giving it a jig and moving it again.. and if that was a jewy at the end you need some stronger leader, 15 pound aint gunna cut it most of the time id go 30 pound minimum with a decent bait and hook.. unless you let that drag run loose and have a decent size reel but id say it was probably a chopper or another monster bream! good session but you cant go wrong where you are at the moment for good fishing that's for sure!
