Palm Cove Jetty was my favourite fishing spot as a kid. My father would drop me off and I would fish all day. As I got to my teens and twenties I would go late afternoon and fish for sharks and squid etc. We caught all sorts of fish. The best being Spanish mackerel. I also caught a huge wolf herring that devoured a live bait as soon as it hit the water down beside the jetty. A great night's fishing even though you didn't catch anything (that's fishing though).

When you go for mud crab when you put your bait in make sure you have no bug spray on your head because the scent from your hands go onto the fish and crabs can smell it

Try hearvy bay pier its 1km long its in Queensland and its so good i caught a hammer head off it and a shovel nose in just a couple hours and the amount of baitfish there is insane
