This past year was amazing! Cerro Gordo has come from an abandoned ghost town to a lively town buzzing with progress and potential. Here is a look back at all that happened in 2023.
Thank you all so much for all the support over the years! You all are the reason this town is thriving and I can't say thank you enough.
Also - I wrote a BOOK!
If you've ever got anything out of this channel, I hope you'll consider pre-ordering the book. It is a HUGE way to show support for everything going on and would mean the world to me. Hey Brent, I've been going to the Owens Valley for the last 55+ years, with the sole purpose of killing trout. I also have spent the last 35 years working in the art glass industry. For all my trips to the valley I would drive by the buildings that once were the Pittsburg Glass Plant on the west side of Owens Lake. I haven't been up there in a couple of years, so I don't know if the buildings are still there. If they are, it would be great if you could do one of your field trips there and give a bit history while exploring.... Love your channel....

Use the right building material for winter conditions. There, you will need to use electronic solar batteries and a wind generator to heat your house on the mountain. Once upon a time there were trees for firewood or coal.. then oil for fuel.. But alternative energy should be used. In winter, drinking water is usually stored in cellars. In the basement, as well as the insulation of the hangar, a thermos to store water. Because the outside cistern for water storage is frozen at zero in winter. Or we need to find a water pipe. We need to make a deep water well near the mine. A simple case for a deep well. You just have to look at the geological layer where the water migrates into the ground. You will be able to use a deep-bore water well there. A climate where there is always water is a good place for you. Water is located depending on the soil layer from 15 meters to 50 meters to 200 meters. It is possible to do it. You just have to look at it logically. I'm from a🌎---->🌍 northern Scandinavian country across the sea on the Atlantic side. That's why I see how you malachians are renovating the old mining village. Museum . History. Good luck to the rest of you in 2024🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👍😎

The best way to clear out that collapse is with some electric tools: 1, an electric rotary tiller, 2, the obligatory electric rock drill, and 3, an electric powered wheel barrow. Then you could pull the rock loose, break up the larger chunks, and then wheel it to the lift. From there, put sand bags or a really big tote in place on the elevator and haul it out, little at a time, and expect the task to take many weeks, unless you have a lot of volunteers to help you.

Here's another idea, you are pulling dirt to fill the road right next to the road. Contact Heavy D because he has a Black Hawk helicopter. He might be able to do a helicopter drop of dirt and large gravel into the road. Then you could have a larger and thicker base for the road. Sound's like a good idea but then again what do I know.

What an exciting year. absolutely loved the bar move adventure, wood milling and the gold melting. I hope the weather held out for the hotel roof, and I look forward to your update on that. I think my least favorite part was the burial areas. A problem I know is tough to address. Should a memorial be set up despite not having one specific cemetary? Thats the question. I do worry when you explore alone in the mines imagining collapses, seems so risky but I love minerals so I enjoy seeing them raw and polished. Please invest in some better equipment to cut and polish you deserve it. As someone else in the comments said Cerro Gordo is a living museum and I would love to visit one day! Thank you for all you do, your book seems very sucessful-congratulations! Happy 2024🎉
