Nothing you expressed was abnormal. What you've done (and are in the process of doing) has been very impressive! You went from the structure of family/school to having to create something entirely on your own, and you're doing a really admirable job trying to piece together a framework that's right for you. As you make your way, you'll occasionally sense things aren't in balance, and when it makes you feel a certain way, it's ok. You always come across as a very well intentioned, good person who is trying her best.

Maybe you need a partnership with a food delivery service so you can learn about what ingredients go together and make cooking kinda fun.

what i love about this vlog is not only did she let us know that this week was a bit of an emotional struggle for her because it’s normal to, at one point, drop all emotions and feel like it’s the end of the world, but she was comfortable with us and used this footage of a roller coaster of emotions to show us what being a human and a young woman!! in different phases can be like and she put it together and romanticized our humanity. she didn’t let the negatives take away from her theme of her content, she continued to turn it positively and be open and honest and share what her life on her own is like. she loves having us around❤

Girl we all have been there ❤you’re doing so well and you’re so mature!! And pro tip- I’m 30 and hate cooking so I bought a crock pot and airfryer and it makes it so much easier and less stressful. Also finding easy things to make that taste good and just keep a note on your phone of everything you’ve made that’s easy and tastes good then you’ll eventually have enough to make a rotation of easy meals!

I loved this video! Something that personally helped me a lot with learning to live in the moment more (outside of journaling, meditation, etc.) was getting a flipphone and social media in general. It's definitely a tad bit extreme for most people, but the peace of mind it's given me without sacrificing communication with my friends has been amazing. Since social media is your job, I thought i'd just list a couple things that may be a bit more applicable to you! I personally use a digicam and set a goal to take a picture everyday of something I find beautiful. It gets me to get out of my house at least once a day, and taking a picture everyday acts as a sort of catalogue for my life that isn't connection to the cons that social media has (for me personally). In a similar vein, I also like to try and write about something that was on my mind that day. It could be a review of a book I finished, a quote I really liked, or an article I read that sparked something, anything that helps to stand testament that I can find something meaningful and valuable in the day yk? That, and I also like setting a bucket list of things that I'd like to do that month, most of which are activities that I could do in a day if I don't have any plans! But another thing I wanted to mention (sorry for the long ass comment☠) is that it's natural to feel hyperfocused on the future! As someone who's also working full-time independent of my parents at 18, I feel like there's this immense self-pressure to get everything right as newly minted adults, even though that isn't how it really works yk? Adulting isn't something you master as much as it is a labor of trial and error over the course of our lives. i.e adulting is hard as hell ☠. We're young, and with that we're granted the space to mess up and learn wisdom from whatever short comings or failures we may run into in life. So be kind to yourself, you're doing great!! Sorry for the major yap sesh, but hope at least something here helped. :]

Kudos to you for being 18 and living by yourself in a completely different state from everyone you love. At 34 myself I don’t think my mental health could even handle that! It takes a lot to be always be alone physically and it can create mental breakdowns, BUT you seem to handle everything with such grace and positivity. You’re doing so much now at 18 than most people have done in their whole lives.✨

Take one day at a time Avia, if you need to cry it out do that, crying is necessary so never apologize for just feeling. Ask your mom to cook you some meals and send them to you. She just needs to get a box that she can put the food in with dry ice packs. It’ll help you with backup meals when your cooking isn’t quite hitting it for you. Or better yet, your mom could go down there and cook a bunch of meals for you and in the process teach you. Hope you’re doing better. Sending you love from Texas. 🫶🏻

honestly so relatable. Growing up is having to find something to eat, everyday, for the rest of your life. Multiple times a day, even more if you have a partner! 😅 I have found a few recipes and honestly? I just remake them xD Spaghetti, Lasagna, Rice w/ some kind of protein, things that have good leftovers are nice because cooking multiple days in a row is kind of exhausting too.

And YES, I know I don't know you for real for real 😂🤷🏽‍♂️. Anyways, thanks for sharing and being vulnerable. I "randomly" cry sometimes too, and it feels so damn therapeutic/cathartic. I put it in quotes because in the moment it does feel random, but there's always a reason deep down.

It's okay to be emotional. It's a natural part of being a human being. Adulting is not easy, and I remember leaving my house when I was only 18 years old. Although I'm male, the struggle was real. You have learned so many skills rapidly like it or not you have to do things or they will fall apart. As you said, we often take for granted all that our parents do for us.

as a 28 year old, I feel you when you are talking about the cooking. It can be hard to push yourself to cook, and worrying about if it will be good or not. I have maybe, 5 meals I make consecutively that ive mastered (not even hard ones just well ive had all my friends and partner say they are very good) so I basically just eat those meals constantly. And I want to branch out to new things and try new recipes but Im afraid of also failing and wasting food, money, time, etc so I really get that. Your 20's will be all about figuring all of this out and your worries right now are very fking normal hahaha but you'll get through them. I found I learned a lot within the age of 20-25 on adulting, but i'm still figuring things out as I go. Whenever adulting gets hard I know I can still go home to my mom with her yummy cooking when I need her and her support. You got this.

maybe you can make a weekly meal plan so you wouldnt feel stressed thinking about what to make and make sure to taste test as you go (after you add spices/ sauces etc) so you know what you need more or less of. dont wait till the end to taste i made bad dishes when i started cooking as well, but my husband's a natural at cooking and he showed me that you can salvage even very poorly cooked meals lol. just taste as you go and add/ reduce ingredients as necessary. if you've put too much salt, add other spices/ more pasta to balance it out etc. making bulk dishes might also help so you dont have to cook everyday. you should really try to have rice and curry. rice - just chuck it in the rice cooker. curry - its literally adding the veggie or meat to a pot and adding a bunch of spices plus coconut milk. its really easy and you can keep it in the fridge for up to a week.

set yourself up for sucess! On a day where you are in the mood to cook, and making something you like, double the recipe or quanitity!! Freeze single serving quantities! When you have a night where youre just not feelin' cooking or tempted to get takeout....foods in the freezer! There is some trial and error involved with finding out what reheats nicely, but for the most part, you can freeze anything!! Soups are particularly easy.

I think that way too and I’m 28 now! I think it’s actually a strength if it’s used well but it can lead to anxiety too! Just try to balance yourself out and enjoy the moment but still let yourself plan ahead and think ahead. I was recently inspired by a KZbinr who said everyday plan something exciting no matter what cards you’re dealt you can still ask yourself what’s the most exciting thing you can do each day and do it. This has helped me live for each day a little more.

Something I wish I knew when I was younger and just moved out is when you start to overthink too much bring yourself back to the present moment 🩵 do what your heart tells you, try to stay away from too much temptation and spend loads of time in nature while you learn to control your emotions and be aware :) also never hate yourself for ANYTHING, there’s a reason you do everything and if it’s a mistake try to learn why you did it but don’t hate it it’s part of the journey :)

My tip for your mental struggles since you like to read is to read «No Bad Parts» by Richard Scwartz. It’s about how we all have different parts in our minds; like when you said a part of you wants to enjoy your apartment in the moment, but another part of you is thinking about the future and moving out. The book basically teaches us that all our thoughts and emotions have good intentions for us, and how to get to know all «parts» of our minds better :)

Now when i made with my own liking its drinkable :) so yeah..I guess I wanted to gush over my taste buds change? ahha idk but I know it will be healthy balance alongside coffe that i only drink like 1-3 week if I go to night shift or I hve day off the next day. Girl, so you asked for some advice so here I am to tell you: - In cooking, until you get comfortable enough to eye-ball it per se, follow the directions you find online/in a cookbook! This will get you comfortable with the portion size of spices and ingredients and how much of each you usually need in a recipe. Then, after doing it so much you can start making creations of your own! -Also in cooking, it takes time! Feel free to mess up, make bad meals sometimes and figuring stuff out, because eventually, you'll become a pro cook in no time and you'll master it! But without making those mistakes and failing, you'll never know what is good and what's not. So embrace the process ;). -It's completely normal to have mental breakdowns, but I'm so glad you're happy again and finding your true self. All the blessings sent your way love. And, I love your videos, never stop slaying - you rock!
