When you talked about standing up for yourself thats something i want to tell my middle school self to do because i was a doormat that time, i was bullied really badly too, which i got in trouble for which is so unfair but now looking back it makes sense since the reason why i got in trouble was to force me to stand up for myself. Luckily now i can easily do stand up for myself because that experience taught me that, this said means we really learn from our experiences

omg! i've had the same exact experience with a coworker who always makes jokes at my expense. thinking it was funny for everyone. I stood up for myself and privately messaged him saying that he's in no position to treat me that way. He actually apologized, I accepted it and we both moved on and had a good working relationship after that. Morale of the story, do not be afraid to stand up for yourself. Life is short to be taken for granted.
